Position Type: Full time; Exempt 

Air Squared Manufacturing, Inc. is an OEM manufacturer of scroll type compressors, vacuum pumps and expanders for the medical, aerospace, fuel cell and power generation industries.  Air Squared offers exciting career opportunities working on projects including NASA MOXIE, Leading Electric and Autonomous Vehicle OEM, DOE Clean Energy initiatives ranging from nuclear fusion and the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-e), and other cutting-edge projects.  

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer I to support the development, sustainment, and improvement of manufacturing processes by executing engineering tasks under guidance. This role focuses on learning core manufacturing engineering principles while contributing to day-to-day production support and improvement efforts.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $85,000 / year, based on qualifications and experience

Manufacturing Engineer I Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the transition of new products and processes from development to production by assisting with definition, validation, and documentation
  • Provide technical and continual improvement support for existing production lines under guidance of senior engineers
  • Assist with process design activities such as data collection, process flow development, PFMEA contribution, control plan support, measurement system analysis, and time studies
  • Design and fabricate/procure process tools, fixtures, machines, and workstations
  • Develop process documentation including work instructions and visual aids
  • Support definition of maintenance requirements to help ensure manufacturing process quality and reliability
  • Plan and perform tests to validate improvement ideas, then analyze and present data
  • Contribute to continual improvement initiatives targeting quality, cost, manufacturability, and performance
  • Analyze production process holistically to identify bottlenecks and problem areas and recommend improvement opportunities
  • Work closely with quality and manufacturing to support corrective actions
  • Create documentation for processes conforming to ISO 9001 and industry specific standards as customers require
  • Train production employees on new and existing manufacturing processes
  • Monitor existing processes and escalate out-of-control conditions
  • Contribute to failure analysis and statistical analysis
  • Working knowledge of common manufacturing processes
  • Applies structured analytical and problem-solving methodologies
  • Demonstrates an understanding of design for manufacturability principles
  • Maintains accurate and clear process documentation
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to learn manufacturing systems and engineering best practices
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Other responsibilities as required

Manufacturing Engineer I Qualifications:

· MUST SUBMIT RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED

· BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering (required)

· 0-3 years of manufacturing engineering experience (preferred)

· Fluent in SolidWorks modeling, assembly, and drawing (required)

· Exposure to CNC machining, 3D printing, and metal fabrication processes (preferred)

· Experience working with power tools (Drill Press, Miter Saw, Circular Saw, Drills, etc.) (preferred)

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel (preferred)

· Basic programming experience (C++, VBA in Excel, Arduino, etc) (preferred)

· Understanding of electrical wiring and power (preferred)

· Test equipment and data acquisition software (LabView preferred)

· Experience with mid to high volume mechanical device manufacturing (preferred)
