The Opportunity
As we scale, we seek a Manager/Senior Manager of Strategic Finance to support consolidation accounting, reporting, financial planning, and analysis for Gloo's capital investment partners. This role will be instrumental in supporting financial consolidations, financial reporting, financial planning, M&A support, board reporting, investor relations, SOX compliance, and financial system enhancements. This role will play a critical part in shaping Gloo's financial strategy while working closely with investment partners and the broader executive team. This role will be Hybrid based out of the Gloo Headquarters office in Boulder, CO.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Partners

  • Support monthly close processes for Gloo's investment partners and consolidate financial results across the portfolio.
  • Support financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for Gloo's investment partners, driving insights that enhance decision-making and optimize resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with Gloo's investment partners to analyze performance metrics, optimize profitability, and drive joint go-to-market strategies.
  • Support the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives across Gloo's investment partners.


Accounting, Compliance, Systems & Process

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SEC, PCAOB, and other applicable regulatory requirements, as well as income tax policies across the portfolio of Gloo entities
  • Support accounting systems, practices, and policies to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Support the annual audit process, working closely with the Controller and external auditors.
  • Manage financial statement consolidations, including proper accounting for intercompany eliminations and non-controlling interests.
  • Enhance financial systems and reporting tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and improvements in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Lead system transitions or configurations required to standardize financial reporting across entities.
  • Implement best practices for internal controls, documentation, and audit readiness.


Mergers, Acquisitions & Corporate Development

  • Provide financial support across all stages of the M&A lifecycle, including due diligence, valuation, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Assist in the integration and financial management of stand-alone acquisitions and investments.
  • Analyze acquired company finance processes, controls, policies, and procedures, providing guidance to ensure compliance with Gloo's financial standards.
  • Ensure seamless integration of accounting and financial reporting functions from acquired entities.
  • Oversee technical accounting implications of acquisitions and new business models.


Sarbanes-Oxley Internal Controls

  • Support the oversight and management of all aspects of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) implementation for Gloo and Gloo capital partners, as applicable
  • Formulate the universe of risks, performing enterprise risk assessments, communicating areas for management focus, annually developing a risk based internal process plan and supporting programs, and assisting planned internal audit activities in a timely manner.
  • Provide project management and assist in performing business process assessments, technology risk assessment and ERP/accounting controls reviews.
  • Identify, assess and solve complex business problems.
  • Reviews the effectiveness of internal control design and recommend improvements as warranted.
  • Support a "business value-add" approach to internal audit by collaborating with process/function owners to identify best practices and process improvement opportunities.
  • Proficient in documenting, evaluating, and analyzing diverse, complex organizational functions and processes that identify controls to facilitate the development of value-added accounting & finance systems related business processes and control improvement recommendations


Board Reporting & Investor Relations

  • Support the preparation and present financial reports, metrics, and strategic recommendations
  • Support investor relations efforts, including competitive intelligence analysis, Q&A preparation, and investor day materials.
  • Review consolidated financial information in external presentations, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Support the preparation of earnings call scripts and collaborate with Corporate Marketing on press releases.


Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with the CFO, Sr. Director of Strategic Finance, Sr. Director of FP&A, and Sr. Director of Technical Accounting and Reporting to develop and implement financial strategies and plans.
  • Manage and mentor accounting and finance teams to build a high-performing finance function across all portfolio partners.
  • Support technical accounting functions, including policy development and adoption of new accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, IT, and business functional leads to drive efficiency and alignment across the organization.


Qualifications & Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in operational GL accounting and financial reporting and/or FP&A leadership positions; 2+ years of public accounting experience also preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance; CPA or MBA, preferred.
  • Extensive experience in operational GL accounting, M&A integration, public-company corporate reporting, and SOX compliance.
  • Strong financial data analysis skills; experience with budget to actual fluctuation analysis, and month-end close actuals fluctuation analysis across many differing subsidiaries.
  • Proven experience leading month-end GL close, financial and managerial reporting, and PCAOB audit processes.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.
  • Ability to drive strategic insights and operational financial process improvements.
  • Proficiency in ERP'S and other financial and planning reporting systems such as Intacct, Planful, Acumatica, QuickBooks, or similar.
  • Excellent communicator, quick to build strong professional relationships, and strong leadership skills.


Job Location: Hybrid in Boulder, CO
Compensation: $140-170k + discretionary performance bonuses
