About the role

We are looking for a strategic and results-oriented Manager of Vendor Strategy and Partnerships to lead our initiatives in optimizing vendor relationships and enhancing partnership capabilities. This role will focus on developing and executing strategies that drive value, innovation, and operational efficiency across our vendor ecosystem.

In this role, you’ll coach, inspire and develop your team of program managers, prioritize and manage projects, deep dive trends to understand root causes and build our perspectives on our member and service experience. You will develop a forward looking strategy for how your support model evolves to drive value in every member interaction and work cross functionally to bring that strategy to life.

You and your team will obsess over continuous improvement. You will work directly to influence key leaders in our product, process and strategy teams to improve the here and now while building our strategy for the future.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $146,610 and up to $207,700. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. 

In this role, you can expect to

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive vendor strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives, ensuring long-term value creation.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, fostering collaboration to drive mutual success and innovation.
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitor and analyze vendor performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with vendors, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify potential vendors, evaluate industry trends, and assess competitive positioning.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive initiatives focused on operational excellence to enhance member experience and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including procurement, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and effective execution of vendor strategies.
  • Leadership and Influence: Lead multiple teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority, demonstrating creativity and a detail-oriented approach to deliver results with execution rigor.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to vendor partnerships, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present strategic reports to senior management on vendor performance, partnership initiatives, and market insights.

To thrive in this role, you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Strategy, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic planning, partnerships, or program management, particularly in high tech or consulting environments.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in fostering cross-functional partnerships with business, engineering, and product teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
