We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering Manager to support the Airborne Sensors and Networks Division based out of Bethpage, NY. The selected candidate will clearly demonstrate strong management skills and will have a track record as a motivated leader, an effective communicator, and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

This is a dual-role manager position, involving balancing both the overall Functional oversight and management of a Systems Engineering group of 10-15 engineers as well as performance of productive work on a program or several

programs. The Manager will spend ~20% of their time on support of the organization and ~80% of their time on technical program work. The management side involves organizational administrative activities and helping their employees’ performance and career development through guidance and training. The direct program work may include systems engineering technical work, conducting design reviews, IPT leadership, consulting, proposal support, or any other appropriate technical function.

Specific technical responsibilities are rooted in Systems Engineering processes and may include:

- Performing technical planning, modeling and simulation, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems

- Performing analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation,

operation, maintenance and disposal

- Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that

acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

- Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Specific management responsibilities include:

- Recruiting and retention

- Training

- Career guidance and goal-setting

- Performance evaluations

- Compensation evaluations and coordination

- Policy dissemination

- Employee inclusion and engagement

- Staffing, workload planning/forecasting and time charge approvals

- Engineering process development and maintenance

- Development and implementation of departmental vision and strategies

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 9 years of experience or master's degree with 7 years or 4 years with a PHD

- Effective communication and presentation skills.

- Ability to collaborate across geographic boundaries

- Physical ability to travel to support remote efforts.

- Demonstrated leadership skills.

- Active Department of Defense (DOD) Secret clearance. US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master of Science degree or higher in an engineering/technical discipline

- Domain knowledge or experience with RADAR, Tracking, Electronic Warfare, Electronic Attack or Maritime systems.

- Strong foundation in Data Analysis and/or Algorithm Development

- Model Based System Engineering.

Salary Range: $151,900.00 - $227,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
