You encourage your team to leverage AI-assisted development to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and operational efficiency while ensuring engineering judgment, security, and maintainability remain central to every solution.
You actively identify opportunities to improve engineering workflows through AI-enabled automation and help establish best practices for safe, effective, and responsible adoption across your team.
Responsibilities:
- Leads, hires, develops, and coaches software engineers through performance management, mentorship, and career development.
- Develops and executes the team's engineering roadmap, balancing business priorities, delivery, platform reliability, technical debt, and operational excellence.
- Guides architectural direction and technical decision-making for shared services, and platform capabilities while empowering engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Continuously improves engineering quality, delivery effectiveness, and developer productivity by establishing engineering standards, development practices, and operational processes that improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Partners closely with Product, Infrastructure, Security, and other Engineering teams to deliver reliable platform capabilities and shared services.
- Collaborates with engineering leadership and cross-functional partners to define long-term platform strategy, roadmap direction, and technical priorities.
- Uses business context and engineering judgment to guide technical decisions involving APIs, integrations, shared services, cloud platforms, and modern application architecture.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience leading, hiring, retaining, and developing high-performing, geographically distributed software engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, and operating highly available cloud-native applications, distributed systems, APIs, integrations, and platform services using modern technologies such as event-driven architectures, microservices, GraphQL, React, and Next.js.
- Experience with AWS and/or GCP, Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis/ElastiCache, document databases, CI/CD pipelines, API management, observability platforms, and cloud-native application architecture.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and fostering responsible adoption of AI-enabled engineering workflows.
- Experience leading engineering teams delivering and evolving high-performance, large-scale distributed systems across modern cloud environments.
- Experience leading Agile engineering teams and continuously improving engineering processes, delivery practices, and team effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing initiatives, manage delivery risk, and drive predictable execution across engineering teams.
- Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and engineering teams on track.
- Self-motivated with ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
- Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience.
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- Healthcare and/or pharmacy experience is a plus.
