What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage all aspects of software analysis, development, design, implementation, deployment, and support.

  • Monitor development resources to ensure requirements, design, and processes are followed.

  • Establish and track metrics for quality, productivity, and development efficiency.

  • Oversee software projects, including off-the-shelf (OTS) applications and vendor coordination.

  • Communicate engineering plans and policies across the organization.

  • Provide high-level feasibility analysis and estimates prior to project scoping.

  • Prioritize and assign work across development teams; manage project risks and escalations.

  • Collaborate with product management and QA to align project scope with long-term product roadmaps.

  • Lead and improve software and hardware deployment processes.

  • Ensure applications meet internal service levels and external regulatory compliance.

  • Define, implement, and enforce software development standards and departmental SOPs.

  • Mentor, evaluate, and grow engineering team members; manage recruitment and performance.

  • Support the use of onshore/offshore contractors and external development teams.

  • Maintain knowledge of software development trends, technologies, and clinical regulations.

What We Look For

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

  • 8+ years of software development experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in a managerial or director-level role preferred.

  • Experience with clinical trials or the pharmaceutical industry preferred.

  • Working knowledge of GxPs, FDA regulations, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills.

  • Positive, professional demeanor with commitment to service and quality.
