About the Job
Title: Manager / Senior Manager, Accounting
Reports To: VP, Controller
Location: Flexible (strong preference for Denver/Boulder, New York City, or Boston)
Description: As a Manager on the Accounting Team, you will support the company's daily financial operations, managing key accounting functions such as general ledger accounting, technical accounting, month-end closings, audit support, and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your accounting expertise while growing professionally within a dynamic, growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and lead other members of the Accounting Team through all facets of company accounting processes and cycles
- Support, prepare, enter, and review detailed general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist Controller in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Act as day-to-day lead with the Company’s auditor and support timely and accurate completions of annual audits
- Support Controller in preparation and dissemination of financial statements to Company’s key stakeholders
- Enhance existing control processes and assist in the creation of new controls as the Company continues growing
- Support preparation of tax returns and K-1s in conjunction with external tax preparers
- Act as subject matter expert on Company’s accounting and expense systems
- Work on special projects as necessary
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 5-7 years of accounting experience required
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- Qualified candidates will have experience in Renewable Energy, Traditional Power, or Infrastructure development.
- Deep experience in GAAP and accounting standards required
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organization abilities
- Ability to manage multiple complex processes or long-term projects simultaneously
- Experience managing and developing employees is preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience presenting to management or external capital providers
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Compensation and Benefits
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time. Ability to work in the United States is a requirement.
Salary: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
