Mark43 is hiring a Manager of Sales Development to lead and scale our Sales Development function supporting the State, Local, and Education (SLED) market. In this role, you will manage a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) responsible for inbound and outbound pipeline generation across public sector accounts.

This is a highly visible player-coach role. In addition to managing and developing the SDR team, you will carry an individual pipeline quota and actively contribute to pipeline creation while helping shape the future of sales development at Mark43. 

What You’ll Do

  • If you were part of our team last week, you might have:
  • Led pipeline, activity, and performance reviews with SDRs supporting the SLED market
  • Managed day-to-day execution for the Sales Development team, including prioritization, capacity planning, and goal tracking
  • Carried an individual pipeline quota and contributed directly to outbound and inbound pipeline creation
  • Modeled strong prospecting and qualification practices by actively participating in outreach
  • Provided regular 1:1 coaching to develop skills, confidence, and career progression for SDRs
  • Partnered closely with Marketing to align campaigns, messaging, and targeting for SLED-focused outbound and inbound motions
  • Collaborated with Sales leadership to ensure strong lead handoffs, clear qualification standards, and funnel alignment
  • Built and shared performance reporting in Salesforce and Salesloft to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Worked with Sales and Marketing Operations to maintain data quality, optimize workflows, and support scalable processes

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for a player-coach leader with 2–5 years of experience managing or leading Sales Development or Business Development teams in a SaaS or enterprise software environment.

People who thrive in this role typically bring:

  • Demonstrated success leading SDR teams while consistently delivering pipeline results
  • Experience carrying an individual pipeline or revenue-related quota alongside people management responsibilities
  • Strong coaching skills and a track record of developing early-career sales talent
  • Comfort using data and reporting to manage performance and inform decision-making
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and Operations
  • Interest in public sector or SLED markets and comfort navigating longer, more complex sales cycles

Preferred Tools & Experience

  • CRM platforms for lead management and pipeline tracking (Salesforce preferred)
  • Sales engagement tools for sequencing and outreach (Salesloft preferred)
  • LinkedIn and other prospecting platforms for research and sourcing
  • Chat or real-time engagement tools for responding to inbound leads
  • Collaboration tools for team communication and coordination
