Our Vision
Energizing the planet with a faster, smarter, and more sustainable grid.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Manager, Regulatory & Market Insights, you will serve as a senior individual contributor responsible for shaping GridUnity’s integrated view of regulatory, market, and customer dynamics and translating that understanding into decision-ready insights for Product leadership.

You will own the Market Map, lead synthesis across regulatory and Voice of Customer inputs, and partner directly with Product, Customer Experience, and leadership to ensure GridUnity’s product strategy anticipates market shifts and regulatory change. This role does not have direct reports, but it carries significant ownership, influence, and cross-functional responsibility.

This position reports to the Director, Product Enablement.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Market & Regulatory Strategy
  • Own and maintain GridUnity’s Market Map, providing a clear, structured view of the interconnection and planning ecosystem, including regulatory drivers, market structure, competitive positioning, and emerging risks.

  • Synthesize regulatory, customer, and market signals into coherent narratives that inform product strategy, roadmap planning, and investment decisions.

  • Identify structural market shifts, regulatory inflection points, and emerging customer needs that may impact GridUnity’s platform strategy.

Insight Integration & Synthesis
  • Integrate outputs from regulatory monitoring, tariff analysis, Market Radar, and VoC activities into decision-ready insights for Product leadership.

  • Lead development of market, customer, and regulatory implication briefs, translating signals into clear product and capability implications.

  • Ensure insight quality, consistency, and relevance across the Product Strategy Library.

Product & Leadership Partnership
  • Serve as Product Enablement’s primary partner in roadmap and strategy discussions, providing context, framing, and informed judgment.

  • Provide regulatory and market perspective to the Product Alignment Council, Product Lifecycle Council, and other leadership forums.

  • Collaborate with Product, Customer Experience, and Sales to ensure insights are embedded into planning, rollout, and adoption strategies.

Program Leadership (Without People Management)
  • Provide functional leadership across insight activities, setting priorities, standards, and synthesis approaches.

  • Partner closely with analysts and subject matter experts to guide work without formal line management.

  • Support evolution of Enablement processes to ensure scalability and long-term value.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Energy Systems, Engineering, or a related field (Equivalent professional experience may be substituted)

  • 7–10+ years of experience in regulatory analysis, market strategy, product enablement, or related roles in the energy sector

  • Strong familiarity with interconnection, transmission, distribution, or planning processes at federal, state, regional, or utility levels

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex, ambiguous inputs into clear, strategic guidance for senior stakeholders

  • Proven experience influencing product or strategy decisions without direct authority

  • Exceptional writing, framing, and presentation skills

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART
  • Experience partnering directly with product leadership in a SaaS or technology-enabled environment

  • Deep understanding of utility regulation, planning, and market structure across multiple jurisdictions

  • Experience owning strategic narratives (e.g., market maps, ecosystem models, strategic briefings)

  • Track record of trusted advisory relationships with senior leaders

  • Demonstrated thought leadership through publications, industry engagement, or conference participation

OUR CULTURE

We are a lean, fast-moving team that values bold thinking, reliability, and continuous learning. We operate with radical transparency, embrace scrappiness, and build solutions that anticipate customer needs. We also believe work should be fun and fulfilling — what we call “funfillment.”

The right candidate is energized by working in a scaling, mission-driven company where they can shape processes, wear multiple hats, and grow alongside the business.

BENEFITS/PERKS

  • Competitive compensation packages that recognize your expertise and contributions

  • Remote-first culture that provides flexibility and balance

  • Professional development opportunities, including training, mentorship, and career pathing

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance starting day one

  • Short- and long-term disability and basic life insurance at no cost to you

  • 401(k) plan with a 4% match to help secure your future

  • Flexible PTO and a supportive work culture that values balance

  • Mission-driven work with the opportunity to make a significant impact in the energy sector

This position may involve access to data and systems subject to U.S. critical infrastructure protection regulations. Accordingly, this role is restricted to individuals who qualify as “U.S. persons,” defined by federal law as U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), asylees, or refugees.
