As the Manager, R&D Engineering, you are responsible for projects that ensure business continuity on commercial products, improve value, and resolve any performance-related issues.
You will provide technical guidance and direction to a team of R&D Engineers and navigate Medical Device Design Controls from Design Verification/Validation to Manufacturing Implementation.

You will need to live within commuting distance of our Denver, Colorado office. You will need to be in the office three days per week.
What you will do:

Lead a team of R&D Engineers to execute technical projects on business continuity, value improvement, compliance, or emergent high-risk projects on commercialized products.

Collaborate with Product Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Design Assurance, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations to quickly and efficiently resolve post-launch technical issues that impact customer satisfaction, patient safety, and support growth and market expansion

Execute a robust talent offense by attracting, developing, retaining, and engaging top talent while driving personal/professional growth of individuals, the team and delivering high quality results with passion, energy and drive.

Will understand Change Management and be well-versed in Medical Device Design Control and Risk Management.

Provide R&D support for capacity increase, continuous improvement, or cost reduction goals.

Interface with customers and stakeholders to capture the voice of the customer to develop requirements.

Run root cause investigations on any product failure and lead design improvement activities.

Lead cross functional discussions and mentoring direct reports in complex cooperative efforts across cross-functional teams and business units, influencing multiple technical areas of expertise and building key relationships, to drive innovation and ensure achievement of business goals.
What you need
Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related discipline
-
Minimum 8 years of product experience in engineering, quality, regulatory, or manufacturing engineering within a highly regulated industry (automotive, pharma, aerospace), including 2 years of direct people management experience
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering

Experience in building and scaling high-performing teams within an organization, including recruitment, team development, and fostering cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation
-
Strong technical ability to develop, test, and optimize designs for mechanical assemblies incorporating DFM principles.

Strong technical ability in understanding engineering drawings, models, applying GD&T and CAE tools.

Strong technical ability in understanding of statistics and statistical analysis (Minitab).

Experience in the medical device industry specifically related to sports medicine physiology, anatomy, and associated procedures

4 years of direct people management experience
$115,600.00 - $245,800.00 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors
Travel Percentage: 20%
