About the Role:
A role in Government Affairs means ensuring local and federal government entities have positive relationships with Crusoe. You will act as an advocate on behalf of Crusoe and serve as an internal expert to both internal and external entities on a variety of key social and governmental issues that allow Crusoe to conduct business in the most productive way.
This work is performed in a dynamic, sometimes volatile and highly visible political environment that involves significant reputation and brand considerations. With your experience, network, and policy knowledge, a successful Team Member will be open, intellectually curious, and committed to working in a bipartisan fashion.
Crusoe’s Public Affairs/ESG team is highly collaborative, and each Team Member is expected to bring their input and recommendations to the team’s work. This includes Team Member civic engagement and awareness, and external and internal risk and reputation management, all consistent with Crusoe’s values and purpose.
As a Manager, Government Affairs at Crusoe, you’ll be an integral part of our Public Affairs team, driving impactful advocacy and fostering strategic relationships with local elected officials and community stakeholders. You’ll work closely with the Senior Director of Public Affairs and collaborate with a diverse team of professionals to influence public policy and enhance Crusoe’s competitive edge in a dynamic and visible political environment.
What You'll Be Working On:
Advocacy and Representation:
Build and maintain strategic relationships with local elected officials and public safety leaders, such as district attorneys and police chiefs.
Advocate on behalf of Crusoe with local lawmakers, including mayors, city council members, local planning commissions, and other local government stakeholders.
In close collaboration with the Senior Director of Public Affairs, represent Crusoe in industry groups, working groups, and coalitions.
Problem Solving and Issue Management:
Address local issues impacting sites of operation including neighborhood complaints and good neighbor agreements.
Partner with the Senior Director of Public Affairs to monitor legislative developments, conduct policy research, and support state and local advocacy efforts.
Community Engagement:
Collaborate with the cross-functional teams to support events such as groundbreakings, ribbon-cuttings, and other community events
Partner with the ESG/Community Impact team to represent Crusoe at relevant events and initiatives.
Support grassroots activities, including calls to action, site tours, and local activations
Strategic Insight and Trend Monitoring:
Develop an intelligence-gathering strategy to identify emerging trends and proactively address potential impacts to the business.
Support the shaping of advocacy priorities in alignment with Crusoe’s business objectives and values in close collaboration with the Senior Director of Public Affairs

What You'll Bring to the Team:
Bachelor’s degree in political science, Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or external engagement.
Experience with energy, tech (AI and data centers) or real estate issues a plus
Availability to travel up to 25%
Proven ability to analyze complex policy issues, solve problems creatively, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills, with a track record of building lasting relationships with stakeholders.
Commitment to upholding discretion and sensitivity when working with confidential information.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to engage cross-functional teams and contribute to Crusoe’s values-driven culture.
Demonstrates ability to quickly assimilate new information in order to understand complex client challenges
Possesses superior writing, editing and research skills relevant to the demands of the discipline
Generates creative ideas, communicates complex ideas and provides meaningful input and assistance to deliverable development for clients
Demonstrates ability to work independently and solicits guidance only when needed
Works in a proactive manner
Works to become a subject matter expert on certain policy issues

Compensation Range
Compensation will be paid in the range of $130,000 - 160,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
