Who we are

At Informed K12, we’re on a mission to help school district administrators operate efficiently and gain insight into their most critical school business processes. Still today, most school districts have hundreds of mission-critical processes that run on paper, making visibility and improvement near impossible. We transform paperwork from a daily stumbling block to a strategic tool. This makes it possible to hire the right teachers for the right classrooms faster, manage bus routes for students without permanent housing, ensure teachers get reimbursed and paid on time, and a lot more. In short, we are powering the future of school district operations by helping district administrators drive the systemic change needed to improve productivity, accountability, and equity.

Our founders came out of Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education. Informed K12 (formerly Chalk Schools) was one of the first companies funded by Stanford’s StartX accelerator and top education technology incubator Imagine K12, now part of Y Combinator. About the role

This role reports to the Director of People Operations

You'll own and elevate the end-to-end employee experience—from recruiting coordination through onboarding, employee engagement, and offboarding. You will also design and manage key People programs and processes that support performance, engagement, and employee growth, working cross-functionally to align stakeholders, execute thoughtfully, and continuously iterate for improvement. Additionally, you will play a key role in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and overseeing various HR and People Ops programs.

We’re looking for someone who brings deep follow-through, strong process ownership, and the ability to drive clarity across ambiguity. If you’re energized by aligning stakeholders, driving work forward without being asked, and improving systems through iteration, you’ll thrive in this role.

We're seeking an individual with an organized, proactive, and outcome-oriented mindset to help scale a culture where diverse talent can thrive. Your ability to manage projects end-to-end, communicate with intention, and lead with clarity will be essential for success in our dynamic, evolving remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Employee Experience

  • Continuously assess and improve processes and workflows to enhance every stage of the employee experience
  • Track and improve employee lifecycle moments (onboarding, engagement, offboarding)
  • Manage internal hiring coordination in partnership with recruiters and hiring managers
  • Coach and coordinate with cross-functional partners and stakeholders at all levels to execute People processes and ensure consistent alignment
  • Drive the onboarding process with clear milestones and time to first impact goals
  • Keep tools, templates, and documentation up to date and organized across Confluence, ATS, and HRIS platforms

Onboarding, Engagement & People Programs

  • Manage and improve the onboarding experience with a focus on stakeholder alignment and time to first impact goals
  • Develop and maintain programming that supports key moments in the employee lifecycle
  • Coordinate and evolve employee engagement initiatives using feedback loops and data to drive clarity and connection
  • Build, document, and iterate scalable People processes, toolkits, and resources in partnership with stakeholders across the company

Company Culture

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all People programs are inclusive and aligned with our values
  • Use feedback loops and data to inform and evolve employee engagement strategies
  • Drive a culture of high accountability and clarity in line with our outcomes-driven culture
  • Contribute to programming that strengthens belonging and inclusion across the company
  • Partner with key stakeholders to advance key DEI initiatives and through qualitative and quantitative inputs

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years in People Operations, People Programs, or a similar People Operations role. Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end employee experience ( recruiting, onboarding, engagement, offboarding) and recurring People processes in a scaling company.
  • Execution + Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder People Ops projects—from onboarding to performance cycles—with precision, follow-through, and process ownership. Skilled at managing tools, timelines, and driving alignment across teams.
  • Proactive + Outcomes-Oriented: Proactively drives work to completion, anticipates risks, and holds accountability for measurable results.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experienced in aligning with stakeholders across levels and functions to ensure consistent People process execution.
  • Communication: Communicates clearly and confidently across levels and functions, translating People processes into clear, actionable steps.
  • Systems + Data-Oriented: Proficient with HR tools (ATS, HRIS, LMS, Asana, Confluence) and experienced using qualitative and quantitative data to improve People programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on a People Ops team in a scaling company (ideally 50–200 employees), preferably remote
  • Experience designing or contributing to DEI-focused People systems or engagement programs
  • Created or maintained internal People Ops resources (onboarding guides, manager toolkits, internal wikis)
  • Exposure to performance management, Learning & Development programming is a plus but not required

Salary Range: On-target earnings of $120K-$130K
