We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager to lead our NOC team in delivering exceptional managed services to our clients. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of our clients’ network infrastructures. You will bring a blend of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and a passion for operational excellence.

What We’re Looking For: Manager, NOC

The Details:

  • Location: can be fully remote or hybrid (Chicago area, in-office on Tuesdays)
  • Shift: Regular business hours
  • Pay: $100K - $145K annually, (depending on experience and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing NOC team.
  • Drive recruitment, training, and performance management initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture.
  • Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching.

Network Operations Management

  • Oversee 24/7 monitoring, maintenance, and incident response for client networks.
  • Ensure compliance with SLAs and operational standards.
  • Manage escalations and ensure timely, effective resolution.
  • Develop and enforce SOPs and best practices for network operations.

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary escalation point for clients.
  • Build strong client relationships and understand their business needs.
  • Lead regular performance reviews and strategic service discussions.

Technical Expertise

  • Provide hands-on support for complex network issues.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and support teams.

Process Improvement

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance NOC processes.
  • Implement automation tools to improve efficiency.
  • Analyze KPIs to drive service improvements and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a NOC or similar technical operations team.
  • Experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment is highly preferred.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, or equivalent certifications.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical knowledge of networking (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Proven leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment and manage on-call responsibilities.
