The Client Manager – Global Client Group is a highly visible, strategic role managing relationships with some of American Express’ largest and most sophisticated global clients. You will own and grow a portfolio of multinational enterprises, serving as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across Procurement, Finance, Treasury, and the C-suite.
The role combines strategic client leadership, commercial growth, and operational execution—focused on expanding T&E and B2B payment solutions while delivering differentiated client value.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Client Leadership & Growth
- Own retention, profitability, and growth across a portfolio of global enterprise clients
- Develop and execute account strategies that expand share of wallet across T&E, B2B, and emerging payment solutions
Align Amex capabilities to client priorities including payments modernization, working capital, and digital transformation
Executive Relationship Management
- Build relationships with senior client leaders including CPOs, CFOs and Treasurers
- Serve as a strategic advisor on payment innovation and optimization
Lead complex client engagements, negotiations, renewals, and global change initiatives
Global Account Execution
- Drive coordinated global account plans and pipeline growth across regions and business units
- Lead cross-functional teams across product, risk, legal, operations, and servicing to deliver seamless client outcomes
- Execute complex regulatory, operational, and commercial initiatives globally
Minimum Qualifications
- Significant experience managing large global clients in commercial payments or financial services
- Proven success driving growth through strategic, consultative selling
- Experience engaging executive stakeholders and leading complex negotiations/RFPs
- Strong understanding of Commercial Card T&E and/or B2B payment ecosystems
- Strong program management skills with the ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver complex initiatives on time
- Comfort in fast-paced, ambiguous environments by adapting quickly to evolving priorities, business needs, and stakeholder dynamics
- Ability to influence across a highly matrixed global organization
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and financial acumen
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years in Commercial Card T&E or B2B payments
- Knowledge of P2P, ERP integrations, supplier payments, and working capital solutions
- Experience managing global programs across multiple regions and regulatory environments
- Strong understanding of the commercial payments and fintech landscape
