POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager, Insurance Verification manages a team dedicated to executing Natera’s insurance verification strategy. This highly important function will oversee the team's efforts to verify patient eligibility and coverage, and will lead with the operational direction and technical expertise necessary to execute on all reimbursement related functions.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Experience with managing large remote teams, including supervision of staff
  • Oversees a team that is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, to ensure necessary procedures are covered by an individual’s provider
  • The individual is responsible for tracking metrics and ensuring team productivity
  • Utilizes computer systems and databases
  • Sets priorities to meet departmental needs
  • This position requires professionals to spend extensive amounts of time on the phone with insurance companies
  • Completes productivity reports weekly, monthly or as required
  • Performs other related duties and special projects as required
  • This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and have an access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job
  • Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and
  • Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire
  • Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business or related field; MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in healthcare in a reimbursement environment. 
  • Significant knowledge of and experience with healthcare service provider revenue cycle required. Genetic testing or laboratory diagnostic experience, a plus. 
  • Expert knowledge of Google Suite. 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and software applications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Expertise in government and private payer reimbursement requirements required. 
  • Proven record of successfully finding and positively impacting healthcare service provider cash flow through a disciplined business approach, i.e.  monitoring payer denials, general allowed amount trends, and patient receivables, and then developing innovative and collaborative solutions to drive improved performance. 
  • Knowledge of payer eligibility and benefits. Health care research and analysis skills sufficient to support payer research healthcare policy library and state management. 
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. 
  • The role will require interaction with a wide range of fellow employees, senior leaders, as well as external auditors and experts. 
  • Maintain a high standard of discipline and professionalism.
  • Ability to think creatively and initiate new ideas or solutions to business issues. 
  • Independence of thought and sound judgment relating to business needs. 
  • Demonstrated commitment, self & team motivation, and drive. 
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to sell the business reason for the change. 
  • Act as an agent of change, positive influence, while maintaining appropriate level of independence.
  • Ability to work in a fast-past, competing deadline driven environment.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
