Job Details
Under the direction of the VP of Client Experience, the Implementation Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the end-to-end implementation of Pharmastar services for new and transitioning clients. This role serves as the primary project lead during the onboarding process, ensuring that all implementation activities are coordinated, communicated and completed on time and in accordance with client expectations, regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
The Implementation Manager acts as the central point of coordination between clients and internal departments, including Client Experience, Operations, Clinical Services, Compliance, Finance, Reporting and Information Technology. This position is responsible for developing implementation strategies, managing project timelines, identifying and mitigating risks, facilitating communication among stakeholders and ensuring a seamless transition to ongoing client support following successful implementation.
This role requires strong project management, relationship-building and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple implementations at once in a fast-paced environment.
Pharmastar (an AnewHealth company) is a Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) for commercial plans, Medicare Part D Plans and PACE Plans.
Responsibilities
Implementation Project Management
Lead the end-to-end implementation process for new and transitioning clients from contract execution through go-live and transition to ongoing support.
Develop, maintain and manage comprehensive implementation project plans, timelines, milestones and deliverables.
Coordinate implementation activities across multiple internal departments to ensure readiness for client onboarding.
Monitor project progress, identify implementation risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
Manage multiple concurrent implementations while maintaining high levels of accuracy, organization and client satisfaction.
Facilitate implementation status meetings and provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Track implementation issues, action items and decisions through project completion.
Ensure all implementation deliverables are completed within established timelines and quality standards.
Client Onboarding & Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the implementation process.
Guide clients through onboarding requirements and provide consultation regarding implementation activities, timelines and expectations.
Coordinate and lead implementation meetings, training sessions and client readiness reviews.
Develop strong working relationships with client stakeholders and serve as a trusted advisor throughout implementation.
Assess client needs and collaborate with internal teams to develop effective implementation solutions.
Ensure a smooth transition from implementation to ongoing client support and account management functions.
Maintain a high level of client satisfaction by providing proactive communication and timely issue resolution.
Operational Coordination
Coordinate implementation activities related to plan configuration, pharmacy and prescriber network setup, eligibility processes, reporting requirements, data validation and operational readiness.
Partner with Operations, Clinical Services, Reporting, Compliance and other departments to ensure successful implementation outcomes.
Validate implementation deliverables and coordinate testing activities as necessary.
Monitor implementation readiness and escalate concerns when project timelines or deliverables are at risk.
Assist with the development and refinement of implementation processes, tools and documentation to improve operational efficiency.
Compliance & Regulatory Support
Coordinate implementation-related regulatory requirements and ensure applicable deadlines are met.
Assist clients with implementation documentation and regulatory reporting requirements as applicable.
Maintain awareness of Medicare Part D, PACE and other applicable healthcare regulations that impact implementation activities.
Ensure HIPAA and confidentiality requirements are followed throughout all implementation activities.
Support internal compliance initiatives related to client onboarding and implementation processes.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Document meeting minutes, action items, decisions and project status updates.
Maintain accurate implementation records and project documentation.
Develop and update implementation templates, workflows, procedures and best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve implementation effectiveness, client experience and operational efficiency.
Participate in special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
Organizational Support
Participate in department meetings, cross-functional initiatives and educational opportunities.
Provide support for client inquiries and internal operational activities as needed.
Assist with other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Design and present external education sessions that drive engagement and support organizational goals.
Represent Pharmastar at various conference and association meetings.

Education
Required: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Project Management or a related field.
Experience
Required: Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare, health insurance, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), managed care or a related field.
Required: Minimum of 3 years of experience managing implementations, projects, client onboarding initiatives or complex operational processes.
Preferred: PBM, Medicare Part D, PACE, managed care or health plan experience.
Preferred: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), a plus.
Preferred: Experience implementing healthcare technology, benefit administration, claims processing or related healthcare services.
Preferred: Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM or equivalent), a plus.
Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.
Strong organizational, project management and client relationship management skills.
Knowledge of healthcare operations, claims processing, pharmacy benefit management or managed care environments.
Understanding of Medicare Part D, Medicaid, PACE or other government healthcare programs.
Ability to identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and facilitation skills.
Strong client-facing communication and relationship management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while coordinating efforts across multiple departments.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project tracking tools.
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed to support go-lives
Ability to work flexible hours to meet client and organizational needs
Comfortable with on-site client engagement and travel
Physical/Mental Demands
Communicate by way of the telephone, web (video conference) and email with clients;
Occasionally exerts up to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
Visual acuity to perform activities such as identifying, inputting and analyzing data on a computer terminal and/or in hard copy
Schedule: This is a full-time position with an expectation to work an average of 40 hours per week and be available outside of normal business hours to meet customer expectations on an ad-hoc basis. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
Travel: 10-20%. Travel may be required for special organization or department events, department team meetings, trade shows, conferences, and other client engagements.
