Job Description
In this role you will lead programs within the BAE Systems Tactical Solutions Aperture & Electronics Technologies product line and be directly responsible for leading an Integrated Product Team developing of new products and capabilities.
The Tactical Solutions Strategic Business Unit delivers mission system solutions, from specialized antennas to electro-optical technologies, to the warfighter. Our systems enhance the performance of various military platforms, from aircraft and land vehicles to ships and satellites, and give warfighters the advantage they need to take action, identify targets and defend against evolving threats.
What You'll Do:
  • Model and demonstrate strong leadership in ethics, safety and security.
  • Responsible for overall program leadership, direction and guidance that ensures successful program execution in accordance with the budget, schedule, contract, Statement of Work (SOW) and Technical Specifications.
  • Provide sound leadership and team building to motivate, influence and effectively apply the program staff.
  • Develop good internal/external communication systems. Communicate program status to Upper Management.
  • Ensure that program requirements, purposes, objectives, and expectations are communicated and flowed-down to the internal team and subcontractors.
  • Act as the main interface with the Customer and main BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems (SMS) representative on all program related subjects.
  • Develop and monitor fidelity of the program baseline including definition of tasks, program budgets and program schedules.
  • Review and evaluate the program status on a continuing basis and work unplanned program issues to a best solution, including development of plans-forward, escalation and increased resources, as required.
  • Recognize, develop, and work to win potential follow-on work, increased scope, and additional programs within the appropriate program Customer contacts.
  • Identify and ensure required compliance with the government and company regulation, policies/procedures and guidelines; negotiate acceptance/ approval of all program plans with internal interfaces and the customer.
  • Identify and manage unique material, process, and supply chain issues related to the development of new technology hardware.
  • Define, secure, organize and direct staff, resources, standards, processes, procedures and tools essential for the successful completion of a program.
  • Resolve conflicts, demands and priorities on assigned programs.
  • Participates in the support of new business and in the development of financial plans for the company.
  • Manage and support proposals, as required.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and travel to other non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Short-Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • BS/BA in related field plus 12 years or more related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., master's degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Track record of success in planning and executing development programs for Department of War (DoW) customers.
  • Experience working with multi-discipline cross functional project teams, utilizing strong communication and collaboration skills to successfully manage assigned program(s).
  • Ability to understand and communicate with senior management regarding program performance status (cost/schedule/resources/risk) as well as performance to annual financial objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to senior leaders and customers.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to achieve results through others.
  • Business acumen mindset, awareness within and outside the business.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties and in external interactions.
  • Actively manage customer and stakeholder relationships to achieve positive outcomes for all parties.
  • Review and monitor metrics on the projects and provide support as required to the product area director.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience developing and delivering new proposals and program change proposals.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent certification.
  • EMD (Engineering and Manufacturing Development) phase leadership.
  • Experience managing subcontracts.
  • Familiarity with antenna systems, including Phased Array antenna technology.
  • Active Secret clearance.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
