Lasso is an award-winning seed-stage tech startup in the US. We are looking for a Senior Grant Writer to work with our customers to find, write, and review grants for them and improve our grant writing tools and processes.


Your responsibilities:

We are looking for a full-time Manager of Grant Operations and Technology in our growing team. This role will allow you to gain broader, exciting responsibilities as you show your skills. First, you will focus on writing grants. As you progress in the role, you will gain responsibilities to improve our software tools and processes for grant writing and work with our team, external parties, and other grant writers to achieve these goals. You’ll help shape our story: you will work closely with co-founders and get a flavor of how a startup is run day-to-day.

    • Write grants: Take full ownership of the grant-writing process, including:

      • Work directly with customers to understand their projects and business, and collect data and documentation for grant applications

      • Fully understand all calculations involved in grant applications

      • Prepare and submit grant applications, ensuring compliance with grant-providing agencies’ requirements.

      • Review grant applications to maintain a high standard of quality

      • Communicate with grant-providing agencies to clarify requirements and submit grants

    • Improve our tools and processes:

      • Propose ideas and provide feedback to improve the overall grant-writing process.

      • Enhance and optimize tools and processes for writing and managing grants in collaboration with our product team

    • Collaborate with others

      • Be the main point of contact for grant-providing agencies to understand requirements, and get updates on submitted grants

      • Oversee task allocation, manage workflows, and review the work of other grant writers to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of work experience, ideally in business consulting or grant writing

  • Mastery of English (C2 level in CEFR proficiency scale)

  • Advanced level Excel and Microsoft Office skills

  • Track record of working with customers on complex problems that require decision-making, data analysis, and adhering to deadlines

  • Ownership mindset regarding the company’s success, and solution mindset regarding issues

  • Bachelor's degree
