JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing finance systems upgrades, testing, support, and maintenance, and must have a thorough understanding of the foundation data model and financial reporting structure. The Financial Systems Manager will work closely with financial and operational leadership across Stanford Medicine Children¿s Health, including but not limited to: Accounting, Accounts Payable, Revenue Cycle, Capital Planning and Fixed Assets, Payroll, Treasury, and Information Services, along with similar counterparts at Stanford Medicine Healthcare. The Financial Systems Manager will drive and support process automation and redesign to maximize efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

* Manage and develop strategies for financial system upgrades and maintenance.
* Assess risks or changes affecting the financial systems and determine appropriate action plans to manage change.
* Coordinates projects across entities with both technical and business teams.
* Participate in release planning and coordinate user acceptance testing with the stakeholders.
* Partner with other Stanford entities in the FDM data governance and financial system planned upgrades, and maintain a thorough understanding of the foundation data model and financial reporting structure.
* Drive, assist, and/or support transformation or enhancement initiatives that increase automation and promotes a more fluid, effective, and efficient process for the Controller's Office team.
* Research issues and use independent analysis and judgment to produce solution options including pros, cons, risks, benefits, costs, and unintended consequences.
* Ensure business process documents, desk guides, FAQs, and intranet site are updated and maintained regularly for any process, system, or regulatory changes.
* Manage and maintain security matrix SOD analysis, and assist with internal and external audits as needed.
* Manage assigned staff for developing goals, setting priorities and expectations, and tracking performance measures.
* Promote team environment and provide work direction and guidance including coaching, professional development, and training.
* Performs supervisory functions inclusive of hiring, evaluating performance, ensuring quality and accuracy of work, supporting the team, and monitoring activities to ensure performance standards are achieved.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a work related field.
Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible directly related work experience. Workday experience preferred.
License: None.

KNOWLEDGE

* Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
* Knowledge of core business and financial applications as well as other information systems and computer applications used in a health care setting.
* Knowledge of financial transaction flows, including system integrations.
* Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirement related to the functional area.
* Ability to strategize, plan and implement change.
* Ability to analyze highly complex systems and workflows.
* Ability to plan, organize, develop tactical plans and set priorities.
* Ability to solve technical and non-technical problems.
* Ability to collaborate and build consensus with stakeholders.
* Ability to negotiate on behalf of others to achieve best outcomes for the department and the organization as a whole.
* Ability to identify risks or issues, and propose solutions.
* Ability to communicate concepts in concise and eloquent form to management and to cross-functional teams.
* Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate work results.
* Skill in implementation and configuration of Workday Finance.

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $67.80 to $89.91
