Overview:

 

We're looking for a Manager, Financial Data Analysis to lead our efforts in developing and reporting on critical SaaS business metrics. This is a strategic role for a leader with a passion for data storytelling, a deep understanding of the SaaS business model, and a proven ability to build compelling visualizations. You will be responsible for defining our metrics, overseeing the creation of impactful dashboards, and driving data-informed decisions across the company.

The Manager, Financial Data Analysis will be responsible for industrializing all company-level metrics. The role will lead the consolidation and standardization of metrics, ensuring accurate, timely delivery according to the company reporting cycles. This role will assure quality of the data behind the metrics and consistency in their usage across all reporting. This role will be responsible for reporting on core SaaS metrics including ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue), Customer Churn and Retention Rates, New Customers Acquired, LTV (Customer Lifetime Value), CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost), and others.

This is a player/coach position. In the near-term, the Manager, Financial Data Analytics will roll up their sleeves, working hands-on to build analytics and dashboard visualizations that deliver consistent metrics. The role will be responsible for both building data models behind the metrics, using SQL, and creating visually compelling dashboards in Tableau. The Manager will also then work to build the capabilities of the analytics organization over time including mentoring other analysts supporting the Finance analytics roadmap.

The ideal candidate for the Manager, Financial Data Analysis will possess a blend of technical expertise in data analysis, a deep understanding of SaaS business models and finance metrics, and proven skills collaborating within a Finance organization. The ideal candidate has the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. This role requires an attention to detail that ensures accuracy and reliability in findings that lead to trust and credibility with stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision: Define and execute the Finance analytics roadmap, aligning with overall company objectives and financial strategy. 
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Design and build financial dashboards and reports in Tableau. Leverage various data sources (Salesforce, Netsuite, etc) to build standardized company-level metrics. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with leaders in Finance and Rev Ops to assure scalable business processes and adherence to metric definitions. 
  • Insights: Delivers analytics that answer key business questions and deliver actionable insights that create value and improve business outcomes. 
  • Data Management: Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all reporting and analysis. Works with Revenue Operations to improve the integrity of our data.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science or other related quantitative field
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in data analytics with at least 5+ years in leadership or management role, with a focus on financial analytics
  • Programming Languages: Proven expertise in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
  • Visualization Tools: Expert in Tableau for dashboard creation and data visualization
  • Analytical Skills: Proven analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
  • Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of SaaS business models and key financial metrics such as (ARR, Churn, LTV, CAC)
  • Travel: Minimal travel required (approximately 10% or less annually)
