Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Manager, Enterprise SSD Test Development to lead a team of validation engineers focused on designing, developing, and integrating test content for enterprise and datacenter SSD programs. This role ensures consistent test coverage, accelerates delivery timelines, and provides a single point of accountability for validation development execution.

Responsibilities:

Test Development & Execution

  • Define and drive the SSD validation strategy in collaboration with senior validation leaders and technical stakeholders.

  • Oversee the development and integration of validation test plans across multiple datacenter SSD programs.

  • Ensure alignment with OEM system requirements, customer use cases, and internal quality metrics.

  • Lead implementation of automated test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to improve test efficiency and coverage.

  • Ensure validation plans are scalable across platforms and adaptable to evolving firmware and hardware architectures 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of validation engineers and technical contributors.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Support career development through mentoring, training, and performance evaluations.

Program & Collaborator Management

  • Act as the main point of contact for TPMs, Firmware, Hardware, and Business Unit partners.

  • Provide real-time updates on validation progress, defect status, and risk mitigation plans.

  • Represent validation in program reviews, design reviews, and customer engagements.

Defect & Risk Management

  • Supervise and review defect activity, ensuring timely triage, root cause analysis, and resolution.

  • Drive alignment on risk registers and mitigation strategies at the PDT level 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • 6+ years of experience in SSD validation or test development.

  • Validated leadership experience in leading technical teams and multi-functional partnership.

  • Strong understanding of SSD architecture, NVMe/PCIe protocols, and validation frameworks

  • Experience with automation tools, JIRA, Confluence, and lab infrastructure 

  • Excellent communication and collaborator management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with datacenter SSD programs and customer-facing validation.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test automation.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$142,000.00 - $249,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
