Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Ownership of Engineering KPI frameworks and executive decision support

  • Establish and maintain an Engineering Key Performance Indicator (KPI) framework that supports the organizational Objectives & Key Results (OKRs), and aligns with financial and operational outcomes. The framework should be focused on delivery efficiency, capacity, utilization, cycle time, rework, and downstream execution outcomes.

  • Prepare and present executive-level Engineering operational metric reviews that summarize trends, risks, opportunities, and data-backed recommendations to influence delivery commitments, staffing decisions, and engineering investment trade-offs.

  • Translate engineering workload, output, and constraints into clear insights that support leadership decisions on staffing, prioritization, and investment.

  • Serve as Engineering’s analytical interface for leadership discussions and external value messaging.

  • Ensure consistent use of Engineering analytics, KPI frameworks, and decision-support tools across Engineering.

Engineering capacity and throughput optimization

  • Model engineering capacity, resourcing, and utilization across disciplines (PV, HV, and BESS) and project phases (Business Development, Precon, and Construction).

  • Identify bottlenecks, workload imbalances, and sequencing issues that impact delivery predictability.

  • Support scenario analysis related to hiring, outsourcing, automation, and workload prioritization.

Conduct design efficiency and engineering trade-off analysis

  • Develop standardized methods to evaluate engineering design trade-offs related to constructability, execution efficiency, and lifecycle value.

  • Quantify how design decisions impact rework rates, construction productivity, commissioning outcomes, and risk.

  • Close the feedback loop between engineering assumptions and real-world construction and O&M outcomes.

Provide transparency into Engineering operations and costs

  • Provide enterprise-level visibility into Engineering capacity, cost drivers, and delivery risk to support cross-functional planning with Operations, Project Controls, and Finance.

  • Translate engineering activity into meaningful unit metrics (i.e., hours per MW, cost drivers, productivity & efficiency ratios, etc.).

  • Support engineering budgeting, forecasting, and long-term capacity planning in partnership with Engineering Controls, Project Controls, and Finance.

  • Develop return-on-investment (ROI) analyses to evaluate and prioritize engineering initiatives (i.e., automation, standards development, acquisition of new tools, process improvements, etc.).

  • Develop net present value (NPV) models to quantify SOLV’s value engineering efforts, enabling clients to make informed design and capital-allocation decisions.

Manage Engineering data, dashboards, and automation

  • Design and maintain dashboards tracking engineering throughput, cycle time, utilization, rework, consultant spend, and delivery risk.

  • Convert fragmented or manual engineering data into automated, repeatable, executive-ready reporting.

  • Support the development of tools, templates, and workflows that reduce manual effort and improve consistency at scale.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline (i.e., Construction Management).

  • MBA preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in utility-scale solar

  • Demonstrated experience building engineering metrics, analytical models, dashboards, or planning tools to support senior engineering or operations leaders with analytical inputs used in delivery, staffing, or investment decisions.

  • Strong financial modeling, data analytics, and quantitative skills.

  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, executive-level insights.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools, including Power BI.

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and workflows related to the construction of solar generating facilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across disciplines and time zones.

  • Commitment to safety

  • Strong sense of urgency

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
