Job Duties and Responsibilities
Boost Mobile is seeking a Manager, Engineering & Operations with a strong background in wireless telecommunications, mobile emergency services, and regulatory compliance. This key role will oversee the full lifecycle of emergency services and location technologies, including engineering, operations, and compliance within Boost's mobile network.
The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and operating mission-critical emergency solutions such as E-911/NG911 and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA). Experience in commercial location services, location accuracy certification, and performance monitoring is highly desired.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work strategically with business units and reports directly to the Head of Regulatory Engineering & Operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers to define and execute strategic plans to ensure regulatory compliance
- Manage relationships with vendors and government agencies
- Oversee the creation and review of test plans, design documents, Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and operational processes
- Design technical solutions and operational processes to meet regulatory requirements, in a way that maintains compliance, mitigates risk, and protects Boost Mobile's wireless network
- Foster team development through coaching and mentoring
- Develop and maintain subject matter expertise and collaborative relationships with stakeholders
- Define metrics (KPIs) and performance reporting
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline with 6+ years of experience (or 10+ years of relevant regulatory experience in lieu of a degree)
- Proven regulatory experience in a telecommunications setting
- Experience with emergency services engineering and operations
- Experience working with Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) and government agencies is a plus
- Experience with incident management and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Prior supervisory experience and a proven record of coaching and mentoring reports is highly desirable
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of emergency call and location traffic flows in 4G and 5G networks
- Familiarity with 5G strategies, including Non Stand Alone (NSA), Stand Alone (SA), and Voice over New Radio (VoNR) network implementations
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to implement policy requirements and establish technology roadmaps
- Strong knowledge of wireless emergency services regulations
