As part of the Clinical Data and Information Sciences (CDIS) group, an integral delivery unit within the Clinical Development & Operations (CD&O) organization, the Data Management Clinical Database Developer (Manager) is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the clinical databases, ensuring the integrity of clinical data, and the application of standards supporting consistency in asset/submission data. The Data Management Clinical Database Developer (Manager) will be responsible for managing the timely and high-quality development and delivery of clinical database supporting the Pfizer portfolio. The Data Management Clinical Database Developer (Manager) role leads cross-functional initiatives, as needed, and provides technical input on data management solutions in collaboration with Pfizer Digitial and other internal teams. may manage junior staff members.
What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
  • Work closely with department roles and cross-functional study team members to create data capture solutions that support the quality and timely delivery of data required per standard and study-specific data review plans.
  • Serve on the data standards board as needed, and lead implementation and development of data management database standards, as needed
  • Lead and contribute to cross-functional technical initiatives in collaboration with Pfizer Digital and other teams
  • Ensure operational excellence in collaboration with partners and colleagues for application of standards within data capture methods in support of the data review plan, in collaboration with the Clinical Data Scientist, ensure operational excellence across all CDIS deliverables
  • Directly support knowledge development of data capture tools and methods that support the accuracy and integrity of study data

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
  • Bachelor's degree in a Life Science, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, or Regulatory Agency with an emphasis on building data collection and assimilation solutions
  • Technical skills and experience using relational databases (e.g. Oracle InForm, Oracle DMW, MS SQL Server or MS Access)
  • Experience in Oracle, PL/SQL, SAS, Java, Medidata Rave database design and database programming skills
  • Strong communication (written and oral), decision-making, influencing, negotiation, and project management skills

Additional Valuable Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Outlook, Work, Excel, etc.)
  • Minimum of 1 year in a management role with experience in second line management and functional leadership
  • Understanding of drug development process and data operations required for the reporting of clinical trial data (e.g. data review, study reports, regulatory submissions, safety updates, etc.)
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and relevant data standards; CDISC knowledge and experience are preferable

Work Location Assignment: Hybrid
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $102,900.00 to $171,500.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. * The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $92,600.00 to $154,400.00.
