The Manager, Business Operations leads the day-to-day operational functions of the organization, driving continuous improvement through the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and systems. This role serves as a strategic operational leader who independently manages projects and initiatives while partnering closely with cross-functional teams to identify efficiencies, reduce costs, and elevate overall organizational performance. The Manager will bring a blend of DIRECTV technical and installation experience, analytical rigor, stakeholder management, and hands-on leadership to ensure business objectives are met on time and within scope.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day business operations, ensuring consistent execution of organizational goals and priorities.
  • Develop, implement, and refine policies and procedures that improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead and manage projects or programs within assigned functional areas, from planning through execution and completion.

Process Improvement & Cost Management

  • Analyze operational trends and data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve business processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Design and implement solutions that streamline workflows and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Develop processes to allow DIRECTV Retail installation partners to obtain technical training and/or technical documentation allowing them to better understand and support DIRECTV satellite services.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including DIRECTV Retail installation partners and the equipment distributors supporting this network.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align on shared goals and drive collaborative process improvements.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members on projects and initiatives. This includes technical subject matter expert support for DIRECTV Satellite test equipment for both installation staff and equipment manufacturer.

Performance Reporting & Communication

  • Identify, track, and report on key performance metrics to measure progress against organizational goals.
  • Communicate and present operational data, findings, and recommendations clearly to a variety of audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • Escalate risks, delays, or resourcing issues proactively to leadership.

Project & Talent Management

  • Develop project plans with appropriate staffing considerations to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in business operations, project management, or a related operational role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues creatively.
  • Proven experience developing and executing project plans, including staffing and resource planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to varied audiences (executives, peers, external partners).
  • Experience identifying and addressing team staffing or talent-related challenges.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience).

May require a background check due to job duties requiring routine access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer’s proprietary data. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction will be considered for employment in accordance with local ordinances and state law.

This role requires a minimum but is not limited to approximately 10% travel.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position and work location(s) listed in the job posting US Labor Market Zone(s). Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONE

N2: $87,780 - $131,670

Please note that the salary ranges reflect base salary only and do not include bonus or benefits - when you consider all of these together, it represents a pretty impressive total compensation package.
