The Work You'll Do:

As Business Development Representative Manager at Sovos, you'll lead a world-class SaaS Business Development department, building and developing a high-performing team that drives pipeline growth. Reporting to the VP of Demand Generation, you'll play a critical role in our sales and marketing operations by coaching, mentoring, and motivating Business Development Representatives to achieve their goals.

This role requires a dynamic leader who is comfortable reaching across organizational boundaries, building relationships throughout the company, and driving team development in a fast-paced environment.

More specifically, you will:

  • Train and manage a high-performing Business Development team to meet goals and objectives
  • Manage and follow up on marketing campaigns to qualify and develop opportunities for the sales pipeline
  • Act as a mentor and coach to Business Development Representatives while maintaining a positive and motivational work environment
  • Participate in building sales processes including inbound and outbound call processes, line of business alignment, compensation plans, hiring, and career progression
  • Develop sales tools and provide training to enable the team to be effective in qualification and understanding of the sales process
  • Incorporate and leverage social media tools and techniques in the qualification and selling processes
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to facilitate new programs, messages, campaigns, and offerings
  • Apply knowledge of consultative sales methodologies to coach team members on full life cycle sales techniques
  • Monitor performance to goals and ensure accountability within the team
  • Develop, execute, and orchestrate gamification techniques to motivate the team to achieve goals and objectives
  • Ensure compliance with sales methods and processes across the team
  • Monitor the quality and consistency of all sales processes, metrics, and activities
  • Manage activity, lead management, and call processes in Salesforce.com
  • Develop reporting to provide visibility of team performance to goal
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance prospecting, lead qualification, and team productivity

What We Need From You

  • Minimum of 2+ years with a strong track record of business development/management experience in software sales with documented results
  • Minimum of 2+ years of direct closing experience with documented results in the SaaS field
  • Proven experience managing Business Development Representatives supporting an inside enterprise sales organization
  • Strong hands-on coaching and training skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to coach and train team members with limited experience in a positive, effective manner
  • Process-driven mindset with strong analytical skills and metrics-driven sales management approach
  • Ability to think creatively and generate and implement new ideas
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com required; Salesloft experience preferred
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled sales tools and willingness to adopt new technologies
  • Experience in enterprise software or supply chain industry (preferred)
  • Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
