As a Mainframe Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our mainframe systems, with a focus on ensuring seamless operation and connectivity. Your role will involve troubleshooting issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing exceptional support to our users. You will work closely with stakeholders to streamline processes, resolve system issues, and develop solutions that drive business growth.

Requirements

  • Proven knowledge and experience working with DB2 and SQL.
  • Proficiency in writing and debugging COBOL programs.
  • Experience with JCL, CICS, VSAM, and other mainframe tools.
  • Experience working with IBM MQ.
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) on mainframe systems.
  • Experience supporting clearing business operations and CCP connectivity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Technical expertise in mainframe systems and a deep understanding of the related processes.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and provide regular updates to users.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to create comprehensive documentation and track errors.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Strong business acumen, with an understanding of global markets, financial products, and reports.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and the ability to work closely with Operations, Sales, and Trading management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support mainframe applications and infrastructure, including DB2, SQL, COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and other mainframe tools.
  • Write, debug, and optimize COBOL programs to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Manage IBM MQ environments and ensure efficient message processing.
  • Support the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for mainframe systems, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Provide expert support for clearing business operations, including Central Clearing Party (CCP) connectivity, clearing, and client reporting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, collaborating with users and other departments to provide timely solutions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the mainframe systems and related business processes to ensure efficient support and problem-solving.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with users, understanding their needs, and providing clear updates on ongoing requests.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, track errors, and implement changes to enhance system functionality.
  • Multitask efficiently, handling technical issues from multiple customers and participating in development projects.
  • Apply business acumen to understand global markets, financial products, and reports, facilitating effective communication with operations, sales, and client representatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Trading management to identify process gaps, system issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement tools to automate key processes and improve efficiency.
