Responsibilities

The Technical Consultant will support the IRS M365 environment by providing coordination, oversight, and structured management of ongoing work. Key responsibilities include:

Program & Task Coordination

  • Support the development and execution of a clear management approach that outlines how tasks, priorities, and deliverables will be monitored and completed.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly activities across the M365 support team to ensure work stays aligned with IRS goals and timelines.
  • Track progress on assigned tasks, follow up with team members, and help remove barriers to keep work moving.

Governance & Process Oversight

  • Support the creation and maintenance of an effective governance model that improves accountability, documentation, and consistency across projects.
  • Assist with maintaining standard procedures, guidelines, and documentation related to the M365 environment.
  • Ensure team activities follow IRS policies, federal guidelines, and agreed-upon procedures.

Performance Tracking & Quality Support

  • Help track metrics, deliverables, and performance indicators to monitor success and identify improvement areas.
  • Assist in quality assurance activities such as reviewing deliverables, validating completeness, and ensuring accuracy before submission.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and recommending enhancements.

Strategic & Operational Support

  • Provide input on opportunities to improve workflows, communication, and service delivery across the M365 environment.
  • Help prepare materials for planning sessions, briefings, or future roadmap discussions.
  • Support the IRS in adopting new features or capabilities within Microsoft 365 by coordinating communications, documentation, and training materials as needed.
