Discovery Land Company is seeking a full-time, year-round Low Voltage Design Engineer to join the Field Innovation Department.
Job Summary:
In this role, you’ll ensure the efficient and seamless operation of our low-voltage systems, playing a critical part in enhancing the experience for our members. Your expertise will be key in maintaining Discovery Land’s standards of service delivery, all while collaborating with a supportive and forward-thinking team. You’ll be involved in delivering essential systems like audio-visual setups, security systems, structured cabling, and more. We’re looking for you, a technology ‘generalist,’ with strong depth in one or two specific areas and field experience, to bring practical expertise and hands-on insight to the role.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide concept design and cost estimation for low-voltage systems including security, audio-visual, DAS, OSP and structured cabling.
Collaborate with Club project management, contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines.
Provide technical support and training to team members on low-voltage system usage and maintenance.
Develop detailed documentation for system configurations
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in low-voltage technology to innovate our services.
Review construction drawings for accuracy and completeness
Perform quality control and assurance (QA/QC) throughout design and development to ensure standards are delivered
Preferred Qualifications
BA/BS In Construction Management, Engineering or other applicable field of study
Industry Accreditation from BICSI (RCDD), CTS, CTS-D or similar accredited organization
Project Management Institute PMP or other Project Management Certification
7-10 Years of experience in a design role
Revit, AutoCAD experience preferred.
Bluebeam PDF experience is a must.
Skills & Qualifications:
Comfortably able to review construction drawings (“blueprints”) and providing comments/markups back to a professional design team.
Proven experience as a Low Voltage Engineer or similar role in the commercial and/or hospitality industry.
In-depth knowledge of low-voltage systems including access control, security, and audio-visual equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.

The compensation for the position is: $120,000-140,000 plus bonus.
Travel: 10-15%
