Position Overview
This role is focused on storytelling, structure, and building narrative from raw footage. Not cinematic filmmaking, and not basic YouTube talking-head edits.

You should be comfortable:

  • Turning raw footage into a structured, compelling story
  • Building tension, pacing, and payoff
  • Using cutaways, reaction shots, music, and sound design to enhance narrative
  • Creating edits that feel like real shows, not just videos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit long-form videos (8–15+ minutes) with a strong narrative focus
  • Structure content into clear story arcs (setup → conflict → resolution)
  • Enhance scenes with cutaways, music, pacing, and sound design
  • Identify and emphasize key moments, reactions, and turning points
  • Maintain high retention through intentional pacing and storytelling
  • Collaborate with internal team to execute creative direction
What This Role Is Not

To be explicit, this role is not for:

  • Basic YouTube vlog editors
  • Short-form / TikTok-only editors
  • Heavy VFX or motion-graphics-focused editors

We are looking for editors who understand how to build a story in post.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience with long-form, story-driven editing
  • Portfolio demonstrating:
    • Narrative structure from raw footage
    • Strong pacing and storytelling
    • Use of sound design, music, and cutaways
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Story arcs and scene structure
    • Viewer retention through storytelling
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or similar
  • Ability to manage deadlines and communicate effectively

Bonus:

  • Experience with documentary or reality-style content
  • Experience editing interviews or unscripted footage 
Compensation

$25/hr
