Position Overview

The Logistics Director leads K18’s end-to-end logistics organization — warehousing, distribution, transportation, freight, customs, and order fulfillment — across domestic and international networks.

This role owns the strategy, performance, and cost management of the logistics function and the relationships with 3PLs, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers. Leading a team of managers (Freight & Customs, Logistics/Fulfillment, and Transportation), the Director sets operating standards, drives continuous improvement, and ensures on-time, in-full, and compliant delivery while protecting service levels and controlling landed cost.

This is a strategic yet hands-on leadership role accountable for scaling logistics as K18 grows across regions and channels.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Build, lead, and develop the logistics team (Freight & Customs, Fulfillment/Logistics, and Transportation), setting goals, KPIs, and development plans.
  • Define and execute the logistics strategy across warehousing, distribution, transportation, freight, and customs to support company growth and regional expansion.
  • Own the logistics operating budget and drive cost-to-serve optimization across parcel, LTL/FTL, ocean, and air.
  • Ensure process are documented and continuously improved upon.
  • Partner with Operations, Planning, Procurement, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service leadership to align logistics with business objectives.

Distribution & Fulfillment

  • Oversee 3PL and warehouse partners across North America, UK, and EU, ensuring accuracy, throughput, and OTIF performance.
  • Own the full order cycle — order management, shipment scheduling, and documentation — to protect service levels and revenue capture.
  • Establish and monitor logistics performance metrics and dashboards; drive corrective action and continuous improvement.

Freight, Customs & International

  • Provide oversight of international and domestic freight, imports/exports, customs compliance, and duty programs through the Freight & Customs Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all trade, customs, and international regulations (Incoterms, HS classification, country-of-origin documentation).
  • Optimize lane performance, carrier mix, and freight cost through data-driven analysis.

Cost, Finance & Month-End

  • Own logistics cost management; review and approve freight, 3PL, and customs invoices and accruals.
  • Support end-of-month close by ensuring cost inputs, invoicing records, and inventory valuation data are accurate and complete.
  • Communicate cost variances, risks, and savings opportunities to leadership.
  • Ensure chargeback are analyzed and challenges in a timely manner in order to protect K18 profitability

Risk & Compliance

  • Identify and mitigate logistics risks — supply chain disruption, tariff changes, capacity constraints, and compliance issues.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO, health and safety, and relevant trade standards.

Other Duties as Required

  • Perform additional duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • This job description is not exhaustive and may be modified at any time. The role is expected to remain flexible and adapt as business needs, priorities, and the organization evolve.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline; MBA a plus.
  • 8+ years of progressive logistics/distribution experience, including 3+ years leading and developing teams or managers.
  • Proven leadership of 3PL, carrier, freight forwarder, and customs broker relationships across domestic and international networks.
  • Strong command of transportation modes (parcel, LTL/FTL, ocean, air), customs/trade compliance, and OTIF performance management.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite or similar); advanced Excel and data analytics fluency.
  • Demonstrated success in cost optimization, capacity planning, and continuous improvement in a CPG or wholesale environment.
  • Excellent communication and executive stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel to 3PL, CM, and partner locations in the U.S. and abroad; approximately 15–25% travel may be required.
