The Opportunity
The Legal Operations Manager will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our legal department by optimizing processes, managing technology solutions, and coordinating cross-functional alignment within the company's digital estate planning platform. This role requires a blend of business acumen, technological proficiency, and legal industry knowledge to support our mission of making estate planning accessible and efficient for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Process Optimization & Workflow Management: Analyze current legal workflows related to commercial contracting, contract review, and vendor onboarding; identify bottlenecks; and implement scalable, standardized procedures to improve productivity and compliance.
Technology Management: Oversee the legal tech stack, which includes contract negotiation and lifecycle management software. Evaluate and implement new AI-driven tools and automation features to streamline operations.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all transaction processing follows internal procedures and wealth management compliance regulations. Proactively identify operational risks and help develop strategies to mitigate them.
Data Analytics & Reporting: Collect and interpret data to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to process cycle times, vendor performance, and departmental efficiency. Translate data insights into actionable recommendations for leadership.
Marketing: Draft legal content on estate planning topics and liaise with marketing department for content creation
Knowledge Management: Design and maintain systems for legal teams to easily access and reuse templates, best practices, training materials, and process documentation relevant to regulatory regimes applicable to the company.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is required. A JD, MBA, or CLOC certification is a plus.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in legal operations, project management, or a similar operational role within a legal department or fintech company.
Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of legal software, case/matter management systems, and workflow automation. Familiarity with the technology used in sales (e.g., Salesforce) and legal operations is highly valued.
Skills:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between legal and non-legal teams.
Ability to work with stakeholders across multiple departments (particularly the CFO and revenue) in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment and manage change effectively.
Independent project manager and self-starter who takes ownership of legal initiatives
Compensation & Level
100,000 - 110,000
