About Us

Wild Alaskan Company’s mission is to accelerate humanity’s transition to sustainable food systems by fostering meaningful, interconnected relationships between human beings, wild seafood and the planet.

We deliver wild-caught, sustainable seafood to households across the United States. Powered by our custom-built eCommerce platform and three generations of history and expertise in the Alaskan fishing industry, we constantly strive to meet our promise of a top-notch product and experience. And we do it all in a fully-remote environment that is fast-paced, challenging, and fun.

GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION

Wild Alaskan Company is a mission-driven, vertically integrated seafood company connecting consumers and retailers to sustainably harvested, wild-caught seafood from Alaska. As we expand across DTC and wholesale channels, we are building scalable internal infrastructure to support rapid growth — including our legal operations function.

We are seeking a Legal Operations Lead (10-20 hours/week, fully remote) to lead contract workflow management, support commercial contracting, and build durable legal processes in partnership with our fractional General Counsel and cross-functional teams. This role will serve as the primary operational interface between business stakeholders and legal oversight. You will own contract workflow from submission through execution, ensuring a consistent and speedy turnaround, as well as triaging the wide range of legal questions that arise at a rapidly scaling company. This is a new role, reporting to the SVP of Finance and Business Operations. The position does not have direct reports, however there is potential to expand to full time as the company scales.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

This is an ideal role for an experienced contract manager, legal operations professional, or paralegal who thrives in high-growth environments and enjoys building systems to enable speed and accountability. Put simply, you get things done, and get them done right. You bring a high degree of organization to your work, and understand how to run a tight process.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Contract Review & Triage
  • Conduct first-pass review and redlining of: NDAs, SaaS agreements and DPAs, creative/content licensing agreements, influencer and marketing agreements, supplier redlines to Wild Alaskan general terms and conditions
  • Apply company contract templates and fallback positions

  • Implement and maintain a lightweight Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system
  • Maintain contract repository and ensure proper version control
  • Track contract renewal dates and auto-renew provisions
  • Monitor legal review metrics and continuously improve service delivery
Process & Playbook Development
  • Maintain standard templates and clause libraries
  • Develop and refine fallback positions and negotiation guidance
  • Improve intake forms and workflow automation
  • Support development of scalable legal infrastructure as company grows
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Procurement, Finance, and Operations
  • Ensure alignment between contract terms and operational execution
  • Support data security and vendor risk review processes

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's in Business, Legal Studies or related field, or paralegal certificate
  • 2+ years experience in contract management, legal operations, or paralegal role
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Familiarity with SaaS agreements and indemnity / limitation of liability provisions
  • Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Demonstrated fluency with integrating AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) into real workflows — not as a curiosity but as part of how you work
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to clearly communicate with teammates
  • Proven ability to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced and constantly changing environment

NICE TO HAVES

  • Experience in high-growth consumer brands, eCommerce, food/CPG, or retail environments
  • Experience implementing or managing a CLM system (Ironclad, SpotDraft, Lexion, etc.)
  • Familiarity with marketing, influencer, or creative licensing agreements
