Job Description

Senior Learning Product Strategist

About
Chegg Skills helps working adults build the skills they need to advance in their careers. Our programs combine expert-led instruction, hands-on practice, and personalized support, with a focus on relevance, outcomes, and flexibility.

The Role
We’re hiring a Senior Learning Product Strategist to ensure every Chegg Skills product and program is grounded in learning science and designed for measurable learner and business success. You’ll bridge learning science, behavioral design, and product strategy—defining what effective learning looks like, scaling those systems across the platform, and translating insights into product adoption, engagement, and mastery. Your success will be measured by how well our products meet learner needs, evolve with the market, and deliver sustained impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and operationalize Chegg’s learning model: Translate cognitive science and adult learning theory into clear, actionable principles that guide product, design, and curriculum decisions.

  • Set learning effectiveness standards: Define non-negotiables for what “good learning” looks like in our platform, ensuring new features and programs align to research-backed standards.

  • Shape product strategy with learning insights: Partner cross-functionally to ensure the product and features promote effective learning models, improve retention, skill mastery, and drive perceived value for learners by leveraging internal data and research, and industry literature.

  • Drive adoption and behavioral engagement: Identify key motivational and behavioral drivers of engagement, and design scalable, product-based interventions that boost activation, momentum, and re-engagement.

  • Lead experimentation and measurement: Conduct A/B tests and quasi-experiments that validate impact on learner behavior and outcomes, feeding insights into the product roadmap; define and craft actionable metrics to measure key student behaviors.

  • Build frameworks for adaptive and personalized experiences: Shape personalization logic that aligns with user cognitive load theory, scaffolding, and evidence-based sequencing, which ‘meets learners where they are’ and delivers perceived value to learners.

  • Translate research into action: Package learner data, behavioral signals, and literature reviews into insights that influence strategic priorities, not just learning theory.

  • Bridge learner insight and market growth: Act as the connective tissue between growth, data, and product teams—translating emerging market trends and workforce needs into learner-centered product strategies that drive relevance, adoption, and growth.

  • Show impact through various outcomes: Define, track, and report on key learner outcomes such as skill mastery, time to-proficiency, and completion —demonstrating the ROI of learning excellence.

  • Represent Chegg externally: Publish, present, and contribute thought leadership to establish Chegg Skills as a leader in applied learning science.

The base salary pay range for this position is $140,000 to $210,000.  Although this range represents the full range for the position, the actual pay will vary within this range based on geographic location, job type, professional experience, and other factors.

In addition, Chegg offers a comprehensive benefits plan for eligible employees, including medical, dental, vision, life and supplemental life insurance, short-and long-term disability, mental health support, parental leave, paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k) with matching contributions, Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (H.S.A.) options, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, and other benefits found at: https://www.chegg.com/about/working-at-chegg/benefits/.
