People and Culture/Learning and Development

The People and Culture (P&C) team is responsible for managing the entire employee lifecycle from recruitment through retirement, collaborating closely with various departments such as New Site Development, Construction, Operations, Sales, Finance, Tech & Systems, and Legal to ensure a cohesive and supportive work environment. Our P&C team is distinguished by its proactive and strategic approach. Unlike in many organizations where P&C functions are limited to administrative oversight, our P&C professionals are empowered with the authority and responsibility to drive critical processes directly. This includes talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and organizational planning. By leveraging in-house expertise, our P&C team can align long-term organizational sustainability with innovative P&C practices and cost-effective strategies. This alignment ensures that our workforce is engaged, motivated, and equipped to contribute to the company's success. Each member of our P&C team plays a pivotal role in making high-impact decisions, resulting in a more dynamic and productive work environment.

Position Overview

This role can be based in our Denver, CO or Ashburn, VA office in alignment with our flexible work policy. (3 days onsite required, 2 days flexible).

Vantage is seeking an innovative designer to join our growing Learning and Development team to focus on designing and developing rich, engaging and scalable learning experiences for role-specific learning and general learning assets for the Vantage workforce. The Learning and Development team is responsible for ensuring that our workforce has the knowledge, skills and behaviors to be successful. The ideal candidate will have a strong builder’s mindset, a tolerance for ambiguity, can work with complex design tools, have a passion for creative problem solving and is eager to partner with stakeholders to deliver a quality product. Additionally, the ideal candidate combines instructional design expertise with a deep understanding of user-centric design principles to craft scalable learning solutions across various modalities.
 

Essential Job Functions

  • Conducts gap analysis and collaborates to develop clear and measurable objectives and metrics, and tie learning to business outcomes for target audiences.

  • Consults with stakeholders, subject-matter experts, facilitators, and leadership regarding learning methodology, instructional design principles, and learning data to inform design.

  • Dedicated to integrating multiple channels in a fresh and inventive way, including instructor-led, experiential, and self-paced.

  • Design and develop innovative, comprehensive curriculums and certification programs, utilizing advanced design/development techniques, including generative AI, and tools of adult learning theory.

  • Creates exercises and activities (audio, video, animations, simulations, presentations, role plays, games etc.) that enhance the learning process.

  • Quickly synthesize and create engaging and effective learning experiences and content based on information from existing internal content, facilitators, subject matter experts, previous training courses, etc.

  • Select the appropriate level of measurement for new programs and design measurement tools (e.g., certification process), and update content as needed.

  • Oversee and manage instructional design projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks, adherence to deadlines, and effective communication with stakeholders.

  • Maintains project documentation, assets, auditing criteria, compliance regulations, and intellectual property guidelines for internal and third-party resources.

  • Additional duties as assigned by Management

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Design, User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science or equivalent is preferred

  • 3+ years of instructional design experience

  • An excellent portfolio showcasing your work

  • Strong experience with conceptualization, design, and production of animation, graphics, video, and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Rise & Storyline, Easygenerator, Adobe Creative Cloud)

  • Incorporate immersive and interactive experiences such as video, simulations, gamification, AR/VR, and in-person facilitation into learning design strategies.

  • Focus on the learner journey and user experience (UX) by integrating accessibility and inclusivity principles.

  • Strong experience with building scenario-based learning experiences and/or simulations

  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for creating imactful learning experiences.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Experience with L&D consulting

  • 1-2 years in a Data Center role, or within a Data Center organization.

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
