The L&D Manager owns the end-to-end design, delivery, measurement, and continuous improvement of Virta’s leadership and manager development programs. This role also increases the speed, scalability, and leverage of L&D through smarter workflows, automation, and AI-enabled approaches.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong facilitation capability, analytical rigor, and modern operating approaches.
ResponsibilitiesIndependently own all manager leadership development programming, Manager Foundations & Effectiveness Cohort Program, Leadership Skill-Building Series, Future Leader Readiness Program, and Orientation Leadership Program.
Facilitate programs directly and enable others to facilitate (including influencing executive leaders and non-L&D employees) effectively
Define business-specific success metrics and implement feedback loops for all programs
Analyze data and proactively recommend improvements or changes real time (#risk-taking and rapid iteration)
Partner with Specialist on manager onboarding
Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reach, and impact leveraging AI and automation to accelerate program design, delivery, feedback synthesis, and iteration
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
Assume full end-to-end ownership of existing manager and leadership programs including facilitation, operations, measurement and iteration
Maintain clear success metrics and feedback loops for all owned programs, setting baselines, defining and executing on how impact will be measured and improved over time
Diagnose strengths and gaps across the current learning and development portfolio and recommend real-time improvements based on data and observed outcomes
Design at least one new leadership program end-to-end (e.g., Future Leader Readiness or Orientation Leadership), from outcomes and experience design through pilot delivery and measurement
Partner closely with the L&D Specialist on manager onboarding, aligning leadership expectations, delivery, and reinforcement
Identify and pilot opportunities to increase speed and scale, including the use of AI or automation to reduce manual effort in program design, facilitation, or feedback synthesis
5+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, and Leadership Development within a corporate or scaled organizational setting
Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of learning or leadership development programs, including design, delivery, measurement, and iteration (beyond facilitation-only or delivery roles)
Exceptional live facilitation skills – demonstrated ability to lead engaging, interactive learning sessions for managers and leaders, confidently manage group dynamics in real time, and adapt delivery based on audience needs.
Experience scaling programs or learning experiences, where increasing reach, consistency, efficiency, or sustainability was an explicit objective
Proven ability to define and use success metrics (quantitative and qualitative) to evaluate direct business impact and drive continuous improvement
Experience operating independently in a cross-functional environment, setting priorities, influencing stakeholders, and making recommendations without day-to-day direction
Practical experience using technology, automation, and AI to improve the speed, scalability, or effectiveness of learning programs or related workflows

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. For this role, the compensation range is $121,800 - $139,200 per year. Information about Virta’s benefits is on our Careers page at: https://www.virtahealth.com/careers.
