What you will do
- Define and lead the quality vision across engineering — including testing strategies, tooling, observability, and release confidence
- Coach engineers on improving test coverage, isolating edge cases, and building better safety nets
- Help QA engineers contribute earlier in the dev cycle
- Analyze and fix root causes of quality and security issues — whether it’s brittle tests, poor DX, or gaps in observability
- Introduce and maintain quality metrics
Your day might look like
- Reviewing RC builds and advising engineers on high-risk areas for targeted testing
- Reviewing user requests in a support system to identify recurring pain points
- Reviewing QA checklists and automated tests in Pull Requests
- Joining a team’s stand-up to help debug a flaky test or brainstorm how to validate a tricky edge case
- Running retros or incident reviews, and following up on action items
- Helping an engineering team design better test plans and pre-release safety nets
- Maintaining a test management system, actualize test plans and test cases
