Lead Project Manager, Finance Transformation

You will be a key member of the Finance Transformation team, responsible for driving and overseeing significant changes in the Finance Org. You will play a pivotal role in developing and executing comprehensive strategies to transform the Finance function in alignment with broader organizational goals and industry best practices. You’ll own related projects from inception to execution. You’ll collaborate with teams across Engineering, Technology, Finance Systems, Data and various Finance stakeholders.

This role demands a blend of Finance process knowledge, large scale transformation experience, project management skills, experience evaluating and implementing AI and other technology solutions (e.g., ML, RPA, AI Agents) for Finance, and change management capabilities to successfully navigate complex transformations. In the first 6-12 months, this role will focus primarily on end-to-end procure-to-pay (P2P) transformation. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in P2P processes, but will be excited to take on initiatives across the full Finance landscape in the future. Additionally, this hire will have strong business acumen, communication and networking skills.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to transform Finance processes in alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices, with an initial focus on P2P process transformation
2. Lead process assessments, solution design, and implementations to achieve efficiency, compliance, and cost objectives.
3. Measure ROI and ensure resources are strategically allocated to projects with the highest potential for value creation and organizational impact.
4. Own and drive critical process analysis, identify opportunities to streamline processes, and enhance efficiency
5. Partner with the Finance Systems lead on the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies, financial software, and automation tools 
6. Partner with cross functional teams on project planning, discovery, design, and implementation efforts. Strategize and execute new ways of improving processes and productivity
7. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of finance transformation initiatives, and regularly monitor progress against targets.
8. Assess potential risks associated with finance transformation projects in partnership with audit functions and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
9. Facilitate automation of operational tasks and processes at scale, incorporating the latest GenAI tools
10. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by soliciting feedback, implementing lessons learned, and adapting strategies based on evolving business needs and market dynamics.
11. Drive cultural and organizational change by effectively communicating the vision for transformation, garnering buy-in from stakeholders, and managing resistance to change. Mentor and coach Finance team members, providing guidance on new processes, technologies, and best practices to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting or business administration. Certifications such as CFA, CPA is a plus.
2. Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in finance - preferably a mix of Finance operational or strategic roles and roles in Finance transformation
3. Demonstrated experience in the P2P space with end-to-end process transformation and technology implementation 
4. Proven track record of successfully leading complex Finance transformation initiatives from inception to implementation, delivering measurable results.
5. Experience implementing new technology solutions in Finance -  GenAI, Machine Learning and Robotic Process Automation solutions.
6. Strong understanding of end-to-end Finance processes, systems, and best practices, with the ability to drive process optimization, automation and efficiency gains.
7. Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and manage budgets effectively.
8. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence change in the organization. Experience managing and leading cross-functional teams without direct control.
9. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, accounting principles, financial reporting standards, controls and compliance requirements.
