The Control Systems Lead Project Engineer will act as the single point of contact for engineering on the project. You will develop a solid knowledge and experience with electrical and mechanical control systems for turbines. You will support coordinating technology resources for the application of the correct customer solution. What you’ll do
- Provide engineering support for retrofit control systems under the overall management responsibility of the project manager. Be accountable for project deliverables, customer CTQ compliance, on-time schedule execution and team performance.
- Apply electrical and mechanical engineering principles to analyze, propose, design, test, and troubleshoot control systems.
- Help review contract documentation and customer specifications for technical impact.
- Co-responsible for technical review and response to customer specifications. Provides support to commercial/sales organization to interpret requirements and define responses in proposals and Tables of Compliance.
- Work alongside, receiving mentoring from, Senior Project Engineers.
- Help design systems for interface to existing turbine control equipment, and evaluate all system components, requirements, and interactions.
- Responsible to coordinate and co-lead technical design reviews of projects and to update and archive all required documentation.
- Apply knowledge of industry practices and international standards to produce high-quality and cost-effective designs.
- Support customer meetings, factory acceptance testing, and eventually installation and commissioning of control systems.
- Frequently interact with customers and suppliers.
- Demonstrated expertise in technical problem resolution, especially with regards to power plants operation.
- Travel within the USA around 25% of the time, and eventually outside of the USA.
What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
- Min. 5 years of experience in power application with turbine-generator control systems.

What will make you stand out:
- Familiarity with GE and non-GE turbines or non-GE control systems.
- Master’s degree in a STEM field preferred
- Experience in interfacing with all levels of GE internal and external customers (GE employees only).
- Green Belt certified, or other lean training.
- Familiarity with the Control ST software suit.
- Familiarity with power plant methods of communication and networking with DCS systems such as MODBUS.
- Knowledge and experience with electrical and mechanical control systems.
- Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a matrix management environment.
- Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving ability and adept at communicating with several levels of the organization.
- Influence, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Process discipline with sound analytical and statistical skills.
- Strong customer service mindset.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is Total Base Pay $108,200.00 - $180,400.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, geographic location, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a Variable Incentive Bonus of 10%. This position will stay open on the career website until at least September 24th 2025. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%,120% or 130% of salary in certain areas of the USA.
