Position Description
As a Lead Program Manager, you will be responsible for delivering large-scale, enterprise-wide modernization and transformation initiatives that align with McKesson’s strategic goals and Enterprise Architecture (EA) standards. This role requires strong leadership, the ability to drive execution across complex technological ecosystems, and experience working with enterprise platforms such as SAP, Oracle, and major integration technologies. The Lead Program Manager will serve as the connection point between business strategy and technical execution, ensuring programs deliver value, compliance, and scalability.
The Lead Program Manager will provide senior-level leadership for enterprise technology programs, ensuring strategic alignment, execution excellence, and adherence to Enterprise Architecture standards.
This role will:
Drive end-to-end delivery of SAP, Oracle, and integration modernization programs.
Act as a bridge between business leadership, Enterprise Architecture, and IT delivery teams.
Oversee program budgets, risk management, and compliance adherence.
Ensure platform implementations are secure, scalable, interoperable, and cost-efficient.
Lead change management to maximize adoption and business value realization.
The successful incumbent will perform the following duties:
Enterprise Architecture Alignment: Ensure program designs comply with EA frameworks, long-term roadmaps, and architectural standards.
Program Management: Track record managing large-scale, multi-platform initiatives involving SAP, Oracle, and cross-system integrations.
Vendor & Partner Management: Oversee large vendor ecosystems to deliver ERP and integration programs.
Leadership & Collaboration: Influence across business, IT, and EA to align delivery with enterprise strategies.
Governance & Compliance: Experience with SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, and data security frameworks.
Financial Acumen: Manage budgets and cost optimization for enterprise programs.
Adaptability: Ability to manage change in complex, dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise technology programs, ensuring compliance with Enterprise Architecture frameworks, standards, and governance.
Manage program charter, roadmaps, budgets, risks, and cross-functional execution across multiple business units.
Partner with Enterprise Architects to validate solutions, ensuring alignment with the target architecture and long-term technology strategy.
Act as liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, integration architects, and third-party vendors to ensure cohesive delivery.
Collaborate with IT, operations, finance, legal, security, and customer-facing teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Strategic Alignment
Translate enterprise objectives into actionable initiatives that leverage platforms such as SAP (ERP, supply chain, finance), Oracle (databases, applications), and integration technologies (APIs, middleware, cloud iPaaS).
Identify architecture gaps and drive modernization programs to simplify legacy landscapes and enable interoperability across platforms.
Drive continuous improvement of program management processes and ensure integration of new technologies supports EA standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Drive collaboration with enterprise architecture, business leaders, and technical teams to ensure alignment with long-term roadmaps.
Lead change management and adoption efforts to integrate new SAP, Oracle, or integration solutions into business operations.
Provide executive-level communications on program progress, risks, and outcomes.
Program Delivery
Oversee implementation and modernization of enterprise platforms (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud, middleware/integration services, and analytics platforms).
Ensure programs deliver secure, scalable, and compliant solutions that integrate effectively with McKesson’s technology ecosystem.
Support integration initiatives to connect SAP, Oracle, SaaS platforms, and cloud-native services using APIs, middleware, and ETL tools.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure programs adhere to EA governance, data privacy, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, SOX).
Conduct architecture reviews and risk assessments to minimize technical debt and ensure platform integrity.
Performance Metrics & Continuous Improvement
Define and track KPIs measuring adoption, performance, and business impact of SAP, Oracle, and integration solutions.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance interoperability, and reduce cost through continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience
Critical Skills:
10+ years of professional experience with 8+ years leading enterprise-scale technology programs.
Proven experience managing large transformation programs involving SAP, Oracle, integration middleware, and enterprise applications.
Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles, technology roadmaps, and governance frameworks.
Enterprise Platforms: Hands-on experience with SAP (ERP, supply chain, finance), Oracle applications/databases, and integration technologies (APIs, middleware, iPaaS).
Experience driving digital transformation, cloud adoption, and enterprise integration at scale.
Vendor management experience, including contract negotiation and performance oversight.
PMP, SAFe, TOGAF, or equivalent certification preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial management skills.
