Position Summary
The Modern Workplace Product Owner – Active Directory is accountable for the Active Directory platform as a critical enterprise infrastructure service within Bridgestone West. The role ensures that Active Directory services are secure, resilient, compliant, and aligned with business and security requirements. The position combines strategic service ownership, technical platform accountability, and governance of delegated operations in line with the approved Active Directory RACI model.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Own and effectively share with stakeholders and IT Leadership the end-to-end lifecycle of the Active Directory service, including vision, roadmap, standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as single point of accountability for the Active Directory platform across the West region.
  • Ensure alignment with business needs, security requirements, and Modern Workplace strategy.
Active Directory Platform & Architecture
  • Forest and domain architecture
  • Domain and forest functional levels
  • FSMO (Flexible Single Master Operations) roles
  • Active Directory schema
  • Trust relationships
  • Sites & Services, subnets, and replication topology
  • Health monitoring, stability, and resilience
Security, Risk and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, Zero Trust principles, and IAM standards.
  • Govern privileged access models and delegation.
  • Act as interface with Security teams for audits and remediation.
Operations Governance
  • Define responsibility boundaries across internal teams and Managed Service Providers.
  • Govern incident, problem, and change management related to Active Directory.
  • Ensure adherence to RACI, SLAs, and security requirements.
Backup, Recovery and Resilience
  • Accountable for Active Directory backup and recovery strategy.
  • Ensure recovery procedures are documented, tested, and aligned with infrastructure teams.
Hybrid Identity & Entra ID
  • Act as service owner for AD–Entra ID integration.
  • Ensure governance of synchronization and hybrid identity scenarios.
Role Boundaries

This role is accountable for governance and platform ownership but does not perform day-to-day operational tasks such as password resets, standard account administration, or server OS operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience in large-scale Active Directory environments.
  • Experience in enterprise identity service ownership.
  • Strong understanding of AD security and delegation models.
  • Experience managing Managed Service Providers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in Active Directory or enterprise identity services.
  • Experience with hybrid identity and Entra ID environments.
  • Exposure to regulated or security-sensitive enterprises.
  • Experience in operations of solutions for backup and disaster recovery of hybrid Active Directory infrastructure.
