The Lead Marketing Advanced Analytics role is responsible for driving advanced analytics initiatives focused on customer churn for DIRECTV Signature products. This position will leverage large-scale data analysis, predictive modeling, and business insights to identify churn drivers, optimize retention strategies, and support marketing decision-making. The role requires strong technical expertise in SQL, Databricks, and Python/R, along with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.

Here's what you’ll do:

  • Lead advanced analytics efforts to identify, quantify, and monitor churn drivers and survival trends for DIRECTV Signature products, delivering actionable insights to improve customer retention and lifetime value.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, and Strategy teams to design and evaluate retention campaigns, customer treatment strategies, and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Analyze large, complex customer and behavioral datasets to uncover trends, measure marketing effectiveness, and support data-driven business decisions.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and business impacts clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.

What you’ll need to be successful:

Experience

  • 3 – 5+ years of experience in advanced analytics, marketing analytics, customer analytics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working on churn analytics, customer retention, subscription analytics, or lifecycle marketing.
  • Experience developing predictive models, customer segmentation, and performance measurement frameworks in a business environment.
  • Experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets in cloud or big data environments.
  • Telecommunications, media, entertainment, or subscription-based business experience a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field required.
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline preferred.

Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying, data manipulation, and analysis.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and big data analytical environments.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or R for statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization.
  • Strong knowledge of churn modeling techniques, customer segmentation, forecasting, and experimental design.
  • Ability to synthesize complex analytical findings into clear business insights and recommendations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

May require a background check due to job duties requiring routine access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer’s proprietary data. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction will be considered for employment in accordance with local ordinances and state law.

This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the contiguous United States. #LI-Remote

DIRECTV's compensation structure is designed to be market-competitive and fully supports efforts to attract and retain employees. It is the company's policy to offer pay that is competitive with other employers in the local market. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $111,122 - $201,653

Low (N1): $111,122 - $166,583

Mid (N2): $116,970 - $175,350

High (N3): $128,667 - $192,885

Top (N4): $134,516 - $201,653
