What You’ll Do
As the Lead of Data Center Infrastructure Expense Management, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day management, tracking, and reporting of Lambda's data center and network expense portfolios. You will be responsible for ensuring financial transparency and operational alignment within the broader infrastructure team. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams, including DC and Network Account Managers, Finance, and leadership, to drive data-driven decision-making and provide critical insights into expense trends and opportunities for optimization.
You will:
Take ownership of specific areas within the Data Center and Network expense portfolios, ensuring ongoing tracking, analysis, and reporting.
Collaborate closely with DC and Network Account Managers to ensure alignment between forecasted spend, demand plans, and supplier delivery.
Manage Data Center and Network suppliers to ensure accurate, timely invoice submissions and maintain high standards of expense data integrity, reducing error rates and minimizing rework.
Provide detailed financial analysis and commentary to help inform key business decisions, focusing on cost drivers, efficiency improvements, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
Build, update, and maintain operational dashboards and financial models to track and communicate portfolio performance and expense health.
Support expense forecasting and reporting processes, including tracking variances to budget and providing insights on the impact of changes in demand or supplier delivery.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements in expense tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
Assist with supplier negotiations and renewals, providing data-driven insights and analysis for cost optimization.
Mentor and guide junior team members, helping to drive a collaborative, learning-focused environment.
About You
You have hands-on experience in expense management and financial analysis, particularly in large-scale infrastructure environments like data centers, networks, or cloud platforms. You thrive in fast-paced, growth-oriented settings and have the analytical skills to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights. You are a proactive problem solver with a passion for driving operational efficiency and optimizing resource allocation. You are also highly collaborative, building strong working relationships across teams to achieve shared goals.
You are:
Experienced in managing and analyzing expense data, ideally in large-scale infrastructure, cloud, or network environments.
Technically skilled with experience in creating dashboards, financial models, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, BI tools, etc.).
Detail-oriented and organized, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
Collaborative and a strong communicator, comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Analytical, with a deep understanding of cost drivers and financial metrics, and a track record of turning data into insights for decision-making.
A self-starter with a passion for process improvement and automation, eager to shape tools and processes to scale the business.
A team player who brings a positive, curious attitude and is invested in the development of others.
Nice to Have
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Operations, or a related field.
Experience with cost forecasting, portfolio management, or financial reporting in technology infrastructure settings.
Familiarity with financial tools, dashboarding software, and process automation systems.
Salary Range Information
The annual salary range for this position has been set based on market data and other factors. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
