Frima is looking for a Lead Game Designer to help take its design team to the next level.
We are Frima, a video game development studio based in Quebec City and Montreal for over 20 years, bringing together hundreds of passionate talents united by a single ambition: to create unforgettable games across all platforms.

What your weeks are going to look like
- Determine and implement the most appropriate technical and conceptual approaches to achieve the project’s vision while adhering to production constraints (technical, budgetary, and time-related);
- Organize and lead regular meetings with the team to monitor progress, anticipate risks, and verify adherence to deadlines;
- Monitor the development of deliverables and ensure that standards for quality, consistency, and playability are met;
- Motivate, guide, and support the direct team by providing coaching through ongoing feedback;
- Build a relationship of trust with the partner and serve as the primary point of contact within your area of expertise;
- Participate in project reviews and post-mortems to continuously improve processes and deliverables;
- Collaborate with the studio-wide Design team to develop and share best design practices.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in video game design or another degree related to the position, combined with experience deemed equivalent;
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in game design;
- Experience as a Lead Game Designer or in a similar role;
- Proficiency with the Unreal Engine;
- Excellent understanding of the synergy between game mechanics, narrative, and visuals;
- Excellent knowledge of the various stages involved in creating a video game and the technical constraints specific to the video game industry;
- Bilingual (English/French);
- Willing to travel internationally as needed.
