Squarespace’s Finance team is seeking a Lead Financial Analyst to oversee financial planning and strategic analysis for our Marketing organization. This role sits within our Investments FP&A team and will serve as a key finance partner to our Marketing leaders, driving insights into how we invest to acquire, engage, and retain customers efficiently.

You’ll work closely with the Director of FP&A, Investments and senior cross-functional partners to evaluate marketing performance, shape investment strategy, and ensure that every dollar spent drives sustainable growth. The ideal candidate combines deep analytical rigor with strong business acumen and communication skills. We’re looking for someone who not only understands how to run the numbers, but also how to ask the right questions, connect the dots, and clearly communicate what matters.

You'll Get To...
  • Drive key components of the monthly close, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for Marketing
  • Own and improve financial models and tools that support investment decisions, spend efficiency, ROI, and performance across all marketing channels.
  • Analyze key marketing KPIs including customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), payback periods, channel efficiency, and brand investment performance.
  • Translate marketing performance data into actionable insights; identifying trends, highlighting risks and opportunities, and influencing strategic decisions.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as new channel testing, brand campaigns, and international marketing investments, providing financial frameworks to evaluate impact.
  • Drive process improvement and scalability across forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking for marketing investments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing Operations, Data, and Strategy teams to ensure consistent measurement of spend effectiveness and ROI.
  • Prepare materials and narratives that clearly communicate performance drivers, investment rationale, and recommendations to senior finance and executive leadership.
Who We're Looking For...
  • 6-7+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance roles, ideally in a tech or high-growth environment working with marketing
  • Deep understanding of financial statements, especially OpEx, cost of customer acquisition, and investment performance metrics
  • Proactive and resourceful — you take full ownership of your work, ramp up quickly, and consistently look for ways to improve
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical instincts and the ability to translate data into clear business narratives
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity — you don’t wait for instructions; you identify the questions that need to be asked
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and familiarity with financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Workday Adaptive, Looker)
  • Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • High attention to detail and strong personal accountability for quality and accuracy
Benefits & Perks
  • A choice between medical plans with an option for 100% covered premiums including medical, dental, and vision
  • Supplemental Life and Disability Insurance plans
  • Fertility and adoption benefits
  • Headspace mindfulness app subscription
  • Global Employee Assistance Program
  • Retirement benefits with employer match
  • Flexible paid time off
  • 20 weeks for parental leave and up to 12 weeks to care for an ill family member
  • Pretax commuter benefit
  • Education reimbursement
  • Employee donation match to community organizations
  • 8 Global Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
  • Dog-friendly workplace
  • Free lunch and snacks
  • Private rooftop
  • Hack week twice per year
Cash Compensation Range: $126,500 - $170,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.
