About This Role:

At iRhythm, we are redefining how cardiac care is delivered through innovative technology and data-driven insights. Our mission is to improve patient outcomes and transform the healthcare experience. We’re looking for a strategic and experienced Lead Field Reimbursement Specialist to join our team and help with operational and strategic performance of our end-to-end revenue cycle (order to cash).

This role is pivotal in aligning revenue cycle operations with our broader commercial strategy and provider engagement objectives. Acting as the strategic conduit between Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), Commercial Sales, and Strategic Payer Partners, you will lead initiatives that minimize reimbursement friction, enhance the provider experience, and drive both pre-claim readiness and post-claim collections across all markets. In this capacity, you will also assist management with overseeing the Field Reimbursement team- guiding their efforts in provider onboarding, field education, and cross-functional coordination. Your leadership will ensure that internal teams and external partners are fully equipped with the insights, tools, and support needed to enable clean claims, accelerate revenue realization, and foster stronger payer-provider collaboration.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Support and mentor a regional or national team of Field Reimbursement Specialists
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Standardization and scale provider-facing education and documentation guidance.
  • Promote billing best practices to reduce denials and ensure clean claims.
  • Serve as the primary RCM contact for Commercial Sales teams.
  • Collaborate with Directors of Market Access and Strategic Payer Partners to align on provider-facing strategies.
  • Assist resolution of field billing issues without leading payer initiatives.
  • Assist with provider onboarding and consultative support for complex or high-priority provider groups.
  • Ensure seamless integration and long-term success through tailored education and partnership.
  • Identify and address post-claim issues such as denials, underpayments, and documentation gaps.
  • Provide escalation support and guidance to field teams and providers to improve collections and reduce cycle time.
  • Track, audit, and report on training delivery, field escalations, and resolution metrics.
  • Use insights to inform leadership and continuously improve provider and commercial team alignment.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals and operational efficiency.

What We Need To See

  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, provider education, or field-based consulting roles.
  • Proven success supporting or leading customer-facing teams in a healthcare or payer/provider environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide providers through onboarding, training, and issue resolution in collaboration with sales and market access teams.
  • Strong understanding of billing workflows, documentation standards, reimbursement practices, and common sources of claim friction.
  • Deep knowledge of payer requirements, including interpreting EOBs, managing denials, optimizing cash collections, and executing effective AR strategies.
  • Willingness and ability to travel (up to 60%) to support field teams, provider engagements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, seeking guidance as needed.
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle, including billing, coding, claims, denials, collections, and payer reimbursement models.
  • Business skills and an understanding of general financial operations and major AR goals in the healthcare revenue cycle environment.
  • Proficiency with desktop applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project.
  • Ability to translate complex revenue cycle (RCM) concepts into clear, actionable guidance for providers and commercial stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, time-management, and relationship-building skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Professional presence with strong presentation and facilitation skills, especially in provider-facing settings.
  • Strategic problem-solving mindset with a focus on operational efficiency and provider experience.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to convey insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Skilled in navigating matrixed organizations and aligning multiple stakeholders toward shared goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, health administration, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Estimated Pay Range

$112,000.00 - $145,000.00
