About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Credit Portfolio Consultant to join the Commercial Bank. This role will support specific lines of business in areas including credit policy review, credit procedure development, and consulting on credit policy impacts on transactions. The person will also communicate important concepts to the line of business, work with peers at the Commercial Banking and enterprise levels, provide front line training where applicable, and interact with senior business leaders. In this role, you will:
  • Lead complex credit initiatives including those that are cross functional with broad impact to the business
  • Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring sound understanding of credit policy and portfolio strategies that influence teams to achieve goals and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and middle to more experienced managers to resolve credit and portfolio issues
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts in the business to obtain feedback on complex credit policy matters.
  • Communicate credit policy and procedure changes to the line of business
  • Maintain and update credit policy related procedures for the line of business
  • Direct and coordinate various activities, including periodic training related to assessing credit risk to underwriting and relationship teams
  • Provide oversight on credit risk governance across assigned businesses and liaise between Commercial Credit and the business on credit policy matters
  • Prepare policy exemption requests and obtain required approvals
  • Lead and contribute to various projects
  • Assist the business on internal and external exams and audits
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Credit Consulting Portfolio experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with asset-based or floor plan lending and leasing
  • Commercial credit experience
  • Familiarity with commercial credit policies
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to communicate with senior leaders clearly and concisely
Job Expectations:

  • Minneapolis - Minnesota Pay Range: $131,000 - $206,000

  • Des Moines - Iowa Pay Range: $119,000 - $187,000
  • Atlanta - Georgia Pay Range: $119,000 - $187,000
