The Opportunity: Lead Credit Manager - PaymentsTilt is searching for a strategic credit leader to optimize our payments and cash flow strategies across our Cash Advance and Thrive products. You’ll own the end-to-end strategy for autopay, retries, and cash flow–driven payment orchestration — a space with huge leverage to reduce losses, improve repayment rates, and lower transaction costs. You’ll analyze payment and paycheck data, design and test new payment strategies, and partner with Product and Engineering to implement monitoring and alerting that ensures scalable, resilient systems.
Travel for company offsites is expected at a minimum of two times a year.
How You’ll Make an ImpactLead payment strategy development, including:
Define the roadmap for payments optimization across autopay, retries, and cash-flow–based repayment strategies.
Analyze behavioral, transactional, and paycheck forecast data to improve repayment prediction and reduce failed payments.
Design and execute experiments to improve timing, routing, and success rates of payments while managing transaction costs.
Partner with Data Science to refine our paycheck forecasting model and leverage it for dynamic payment scheduling.
Own portfolio performance & analytics infrastructure:
Develop and monitor KPIs for payment success rate, loss reduction, transaction costs, and customer repayment experience.
Build dashboards, alerting, and diagnostic tools to monitor real-time payment health and flag deviations in behavior or performance.
Maintain and evolve the analytics stack and pipelines supporting payments data and experimentation.
Collaborate across teams to ship high-impact solutions:
Work closely with Product and Engineering to implement strategies, data feeds, and decisioning systems that automate cash-flow–aware payments.
Partner with Finance and Data Science to size trade-offs between payment success, transaction costs, and customer experience.
Translate complex insights into actionable recommendations that influence leadership decisions and product roadmaps.
Shape the future of payment intelligence:
Develop a long-term vision for how Tilt leverages payment, paycheck, and customer behavior data to drive predictive and adaptive payment systems.
Collaborate with Data Science and Engineering to design real-time intelligence loops that automatically adjust payment strategies based on user cash flow and engagement.
Identify opportunities to integrate emerging data sources, infrastructure improvements, or modeling techniques that enhance repayment performance.
Champion innovation and scalability — ensuring Tilt’s payment systems remain efficient, resilient, and future-proof as we scale.
You’re a strong conceptual problem solver with a track record of analytical and strategic impact.
You have an advanced analytics toolkit (strong SQL, Python) and demonstrated ability to independently analyze complex datasets.
You have experience working with unstructured data, predictive models, and collaborating with data engineering / BI teams.
You thrive in the details where true value is found but can quickly pull up to distill insights and influence C-suite decisions.
You are results-driven, owning problems end-to-end and focusing relentlessly on measurable impact.
You’re comfortable collaborating across disciplines — credit, product, data science, and finance — to drive alignment and ship meaningful change.
Experience in financial services, credit, or payments preferred, but strong analytical and problem-solving ability is paramount.
