WHAT YOU'LL DO

We’re looking for a Lead Atlassian Solutions Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with a strategic and solution-oriented mindset. In this role, you will serve as a trusted partner to department and business leaders, helping design and deliver solutions that streamline workflows, strengthen governance, and scale with Braze’s growth. You will own the strategy, configuration, and evolution of our Atlassian Cloud platforms including Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence, ensuring they are secure, compliant, and aligned with IT and business objectives.

This position goes beyond administration. You will act as the strategic owner of the Atlassian ecosystem, guiding how Braze uses these products to support global operations, audit readiness, and cross-functional collaboration. You will partner closely with IT leadership, engineers, and department heads to define roadmaps, architect scalable solutions, and ensure compliance with SOX and internal IT control frameworks.

If you’re driven by strategic partnership and excited to solve infrastructure challenges, simplify complexity, and enable the business through technology, we’d love to meet you.

You’ll own and drive projects that define the next generation of IT at Braze, including:

  • Platform Strategy and Cloud Migrations:
    • Lead and guide Atlassian cloud migration efforts, including Jira Service Management and related applications, ensuring successful execution and minimal business disruption
  • Governance and Compliance Enablement:
    • Build and maintain governance frameworks that support audit readiness and operational accountability. Oversee change management, documentation, and access controls to meet SOX and ITGC standards
  • Workflow and Service Delivery Optimization:
    • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to design and implement efficient workflows that improve service delivery, collaboration, and reporting. Align configurations with ITSM best practices to drive consistency and transparency
  • Tool Consolidation and Standardization
    • Integrate legacy or redundant collaboration tools into Atlassian Cloud to create a unified, well-governed platform. Promote best practices for documentation, project structure, and workflow design
  • Reporting and Operational Insights:
    • Develop reporting structures and dashboards that translate Atlassian data into actionable insights for IT and business leaders, improving visibility into performance, SLAs, and customer satisfaction
  • Vendor and Ecosystem Management:
    • Partner with Atlassian-ecosystem vendors and solution providers to evaluate new apps and extensions, manage licensing and renewals, and negotiate service levels and support escalations that optimize cost and performance
  • Cross-Functional and M&A Integration:
    • Collaborate with internal teams and newly acquired entities to align Atlassian usage, workflows, and governance models under Braze’s enterprise standards

Main job responsibilities:

  • Own the governance and lifecycle management of Braze’s Atlassian Cloud platforms, ensuring systems remain consistent, secure, and fully auditable
  • Design and implement automation strategies that simplify administration, reduce manual effort, and improve system scalability and reliability
  • Collaborate with business and systems leaders to translate operational needs into Atlassian-based solutions that enhance collaboration, visibility, and accountability
  • Oversee SOX and ITGC compliance across all Atlassian environments by maintaining evidence documentation, performing access reviews, and validating change approvals
  • Manage relationships with Atlassian vendors and solution partners, evaluating new tools, negotiating renewals, and ensuring service levels support Braze’s operational goals
  • Mentor engineers and administrators contributing to the Atlassian ecosystem, promoting best practices, documentation standards, and continuous improvement across IT

WHO YOU ARE

Skills:

  • Experienced in administering and architecting Atlassian Cloud platforms (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence) at enterprise scale
  • Skilled at engaging business leaders to design and implement solutions that balance flexibility, scalability, and compliance
  • Proficient in workflow design, automation, and system governance aligned with ITSM and ITGC frameworks
  • Experienced in SOX compliance, quarterly access reviews, and maintaining audit evidence
  • Comfortable leading change management activities and ensuring platform stability and documentation integrity
  • Excellent communicator capable of influencing stakeholders and simplifying complex technical concepts
  • Passionate about operational maturity, continuous improvement, and building systems that enable efficiency and accountability

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Atlassian certifications such as ACP-120, ACP-420, or ACP-610
  • Experience leading Atlassian Cloud migrations, governance programs, or enterprise-scale implementations
  • Background in IT audit, compliance, or ITGC control ownership
  • Experience automating audit evidence or change control processes within Atlassian tools
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and solution provider partnerships within the Atlassian ecosystem
