Lead AI/Data Engineer

Role Overview:

We're seeking a Lead AI/Data Engineer to transform operational analytics for our consumer protection team, building scalable data pipelines and real-time monitoring systems that provide critical visibility into performance and reliability health across our large subscriber base. This role analyzes customer and internal data to improve both what our CP products deliver and how they are delivered, while driving organizational efficiency and product effectiveness. The position will lead AI proof-of-concepts and contributes to production solutions that dramatically accelerate code development and shipping cycles through AI integration for both customer-facing products and internal developer productivity tools.
You will drive operational analytics and real-time monitoring transformation for consumer protection by building scalable data pipelines, AI-powered insights, and live operational dashboards. Lead AI proof-of-concepts and contribute to production solutions for customer-facing products and internal developer productivity tools across McAfee's multi-platform ecosystem.
This is a Remote position located in the United States. You must live in the United States, we are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

About the role:

• Design comprehensive data metrics from telemetry and user data for threat analysis and UX optimization 
• Build near real-time dashboards for system health, security monitoring, and operational issue detection 
• Develop scalable ETL pipelines processing large-volume telemetry across heterogeneous systems 
• Create automated data quality validation frameworks 
• Help the CPE leadership run weekly consumer analytics deep dive sessions to review field telemetry data around new feature engagement metrics, consumer trends, failures, performance and reliability metrics for all the consumer products. 
• Integrate AI into existing systems for performance optimization and SDLC automation 
• Build predictive analytics and anomaly detection for consumer protection telemetry 
• Develop AI-driven solutions to reduce friction and improve product efficacy 
• Manage integrations with OpenAI, Claude, and other LLM providers 
• Weekly AI training sessions with consumer organization to teach and promote AI-driven engineering capabilities 
• Measuring and improving AI-driven software engineering KPIs which promote use of high quality SDL capabilities through AI across all parts of the lifecycle: Product, Arch, UX, Design, Engineering, QA, and Ops) 
• Deploy local LLM solutions and optimize token management strategies 
• Lead AI proof-of-concepts and contribute to production AI solutions  
• Ensure seamless AI integration while maintaining platform-specific performance 
• Develop MCP servers for AI model deployment and workflow management 
• Build enterprise architecture for cost-effective innovation acceleration 
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for AI model deployment and monitoring 
• Work to transform using CI/CD runtime environments (runners/workers) to build initial software engineering features and capabilities instead of just software engineers’ laptops 
• Create comprehensive token tracking and cost optimization systems 

About You: 

• 10+ years data engineering, 3+ years AI/ML experience 
• Python proficiency; Flutter/Dart, Swift awareness 
• Data engineering: Spark, Kafka, ETL pipelines, data warehousing (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks) 
• AI/ML: TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn experience 
• LLM integration: OpenAI API, Claude API, LangChain, local OSS models 
• Cloud platforms: AWS/Azure/GCP with AI/ML services focus 
• Databases: SQL/NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) 
• Cross-platform development (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android) 
• API development (REST, GraphQL) and real-time systems 
• Cybersecurity understanding and secure data handling 
• MLOps and model lifecycle management 
• Cybersecurity platform knowledge 
• MCP implementation experience 
• Preferred Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent Success Metrics 
• Improved quality of products in the field through monitoring analysis reporting and anomaly detection and action. 
• Improved developer productivity via AI tooling 
• Dramatic acceleration of development cycles for new projects through semi-autonomous codegen AI 
• Cost-effective AI operations with optimized resource usage 
• Highly effective and trustworthy real-time and historical monitoring systems for our large consumer base.
